How to adjust idle of 1998 jeep grand cherokee

there is no way to adjust the idle on a computer controlled car. If your having an idle issue most likely the injectors are clogged or the Idle air control valve is bad. Try cleaning the throttle body around the throttle plate. If this doesnt help and you have no codes present I would get a data scanner to make sure the throttle position sensor is giving the correct data or test it with a meter. At idle it should be about 1 volt on the center wire. Some are adjustable. If all this checks out then replace the IAC

2004 jeep grand cherokee limited makes a noise

Sounds like a loose belt, Depending on what engine etc., it may need to be changed or if you have adjustment, tightened. When adjustment or replacement done, is a good time to check all pulleys. If your not up to it, an adjustment should not cost too much, few minutes work in most cases, if belt needs changing, price of belt & a little more labor involved.
