Check the valet trunk button in the glovebox. if thats not selected then its most likely the switch. however its unlikely, ive never seen one go bad before.

I'm not really familiar with your car, but I thought that I should offer this up as a Good Samaritan....
If your rear seat(s) will flip down, do so and open the trunk from the inside. Then determine why the over ride switch isn't working. The trunk button should be worked manually when you get the trunk open. Lubricate the lock and locking mechanisms with graphite, and not oil. You can get graphite at Lowe's, H/Depot or similar, in the lock dept. You can also get it at craft supply stores (Hobby Lobby). They sell it there for the Cub Scouts "Pinewood Derby" race cars.

could very well do as it sounds like their is a possible power loss somewhere ,it might not be but their is a possibility like a fuse or power supply cable has become trapped and broke .

The buttons in the driver`s door under the handle. You might have to take out the whole thing from the door (the thing that holds the buttons) and inspect the button placement, if its loosing its tension, if yes then,you will need to buy one from local junk yard if the place has any. Or if you don't like a used switch then you could order them at the dealer. Those things are usually over $50. --------- The button looses its tension and complete switch needs to be replaced.The switch panel that has both gas cap and trunk button.--------- This will help. OPEN MANUALLY AND CHECK THE STRUTS PS. IF WHEN YOU OPEN IT AND IT GOES BACK DOWN THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM

can be trunk cable issue or the latch issue which gets open/close. It has to be
inspected. =========
