Kia sportage 2006 battery light stays on even after new battery wh:-) at can it be

The battery light comes on due to improper system voltage. The alternator output may not be sufficient therefore the engine control module signals the light to be on for the system to be checked.

Code p0038 wont go away and i have replaced the 02 sensors twice on my 2006 kia sportage

Code 038 means the computer is getting a high voltage return in the heater circuit from the O2 sensor mounted after the catalytic converter. The O2 sensors have an internal heater to make them work as soon as you start the engine.
You would need to test the circuit to and from the sensor to find the real problem.

Check engine light back on after replacing o2 sensor

I called Kia about my check engine light and I told them my mechanic
read the computer and it says 02 sensor. She told me Kia does not sell out there codes to the computer in our cars and that I would have to take it to a Kia repair shop to get the correct reading form the computer

Battery light on 2006 Kia Sportage

Check the voltage coming out of the alternator with engine running it should be 13.0-14.7 volts.Usally when the battery light comes on the voltage is to low or not charging. If voltage is below 13.0 volts or higher than 15 volts then the alternator is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Batter

Hi there,

If you are sure that the alternator is not to blame - I assume it is new or the copper coils are in good condition - then I would say it is the battery itself.

If you can, open up the cells using a large screwdriver. If the cells are dry or there is not much liquid in them, top them up with distilled water from an auto shop.

Take your Kia for a drive (5 miles or so) to charge up the battery and see what it is like the next day in the morning. If the problem still persists, then it is the alternator.

Hope this helps and vote for me if so. Cheers!

My friends 2006 Kia Spectra's check engine light always ON. Failing State emission test. She's taken it to the dealership 15 times. They've replaced the emission sensor numerous times. Was told to...

You'll need to have the car scanned and get the OBD II P Code. Most auto parts store will do it for free. That will tell you why the light is on.
