I would start with the Starter check for voltage getting to the starter should read 12 volts at both terminals

Just had that problem w/ my 01 Dekota, it was the resistor that used to be mounted on the firewall and easy to get to but that is now mounted low on the back of the engine jammed into a bey tight position. I couldn't get to it myself, so ended up taking it to neighborhood garage. Cost me about $150

sounds like a crankshaft position sensor..fairly common problem on these 3.7 engines..check for fault codes in engine controller..can mbe hard to get out of engine block..seize in..sometimes have to come out in pieces..it is located on passenger side rear of engine..1 bolt holds it in..3 wire connector..below exhaust manifold in side of block..fairly inexpensive part..recommend dealer part

it sounds like it might be a crankshaft position sensor (CKP). when it doesnt start try dumping some cold water on the sensor and see if it starts. I had the same problem with my 94 intrepid. Of course there are other things that might cause this problem but it is something to start with.

Do you have spark?
Do you have fuel?
Which are you missing?
TIP.A quick check for spark.........give it a spray of starting fluid....if it runs....you've got spark.
No spark usually means......a bad coil or ignition module on the 3.9.
No fuel is usually caused by a bad fuel pump.
