2005 Subaru Forester engine revs to as much as 2500 RPM's intermittently.

I'm the original owner, car has 240,000 miles on it and is a manual trans. What could be the possible cause of this ? I know this is drive by wire set-up. Not only annoying but pretty dangerous. Seems to do it more, often in cold or wet conditions.

Hi, I am a owner of second hand Subaru Forester S type - turbo 2,0 engine ,177bhp, manual transmission, the car is on 120000 km.My question is - should i replace the transmission and differential oil,...

hi yes it is a good idea to replace the oils sooner as it doesnt take much for them to get dirty in subarus, so the sooner you replace the oils the longer the diffs, trans and motors are going to last we usually recomment to customers to do the oils as following, turbo engines around 10,000km, trans and diff oils around 50,000km

Hi ;) i have a 2005 subaru forrester 2.5 xs... Can you tell me what "fram" oil filter I should buy for replacement? and also I'm at 75000 miles now and the original oil I've been getting is 5-30...

No ... once you start the synthetic you should stay with it ... continue to use the recommended weight. 75000 is really no miles ... This engine should go for 175 to 200,000 properly cared for.

Your auto parts store that sells Fram can give you the proper filter.

Replacing digital clock lamp in 2005 Subaru Forester

If your talking about replacing your Forester Clock module, you can find helpful tips at www.subaru-clock.com. If your clock is not working, it is most likely the clock module, which can be refurbished inexpensively at the aforementioned site. A "dead" or intermittent clock display is a common problem with certain years of Subaru.

2004 subaru forester, 99,000 miles. Check engine

First suggestion is go to AutoZone and get the error codes read (for free) -- this'll probably tell you exactly what the problem is.

Go to autozone or similar and have vehicle scanned for codes. This will give you a idea what's wrong.

Obd light on. speedo not working

There is a chance that the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) in the trans is bad. The ECM (computer) needs to know how fast the vehicle is moving, and what load it's under in order to adjust engine RPM and consequently emission controls, trans shift points, etc. Hope this helps.
