Does the clock need to be reset after changing the car's battery in a 1997 Buick Park Avenue, and if so how do you set it?

I am not sure about changing the name as my 2000 park ave. only indicates driver one or driver two. To reset the memory for seat/ mirror position is rather simple: with the ignition on and the car in park, adjust your seat and mirrors to the desired position. Then press and hold the desired button (driver one or two) until you hear a beep, This is the procedure that works on my 2000 park ave. I hope this helps you.

Most cars if you unhook the negative battery cable for 5 or 10 minutes, the main computer will reset itself.
Of course you'll have to reset the clock, but hopefully that will work if that's the problem.

you can reset these odometers and it will go back to 0 after 999,999 miles but if you find a car running after that many miles id be highly surprised anywy the procedure isnt easy and it carries high penalties , most individual car sellers cant do it and most large dealers wont because of the illegalities involved

Ignition actuater switch half way down the column should be replaced. Unplug wires and unbolt two small bolts that hold it on. Replace. First check to see if it is moving when you turn the key. May be loosened off.

Code can be attained at local G.M. dealer. MUST take verifiable ownership info with car. Also may try after market radio installation
