SOURCE: gas gauge not operational .....low

The fuel level sensor is bad, you can't buy it by itself. it is part of the sending unit. costly part, I would keep check on milage and wait for the fuel pump to go out then have it all replaced.because the fuel pump is part of the unit too.

try a new battery , the old one may seem ok but it's not if a jump start gets the engine going , or the earth connection to the chassis may be bad

My engine light keeps coming on and my gas gauge

The check engine light means you should have the engine computer checked for trouble codes. The gauge problem could be the sending unit in the tank.

Fuel gauge broken

Hi Derek, sounds like your fuel sending unit is not working,it states that the fuel pump has everything built within and that has to be replaced. Here a picture of pump, look at picture and the wire with black piece on it is the fuel sending unit, sends signal to gauge letting it know how much gas is in it.Here's a link on it.Here's how to replace fuel pump.

2007 Hyundai Santa Fe gas guage moves to empty but there is lots of fuel. Check engine light goes on and off intermittently and registers something different code each time.

You have a Check Light & You know You Have Codes

Do I need to say more?

Diagnose the codes & resolve code related issues first
& do it when the codes first show up, the same day or next
day or stop using it
