I have a 1990 corvette, when I step on the brakes my idle picks up to about 1500 t0 2500 and I also can hear air down by my foot.

The pedal is a little hard to press but not to where I can't stop. When I take y foot off of the brake the idle goes back to normal. I changed the line from the booster to the intake, what can be the problem

How to test a brake booster

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogXIHfrhXsQ

or
Run the engine for one or two minutes, and then stop it. Depress the brake pedal several times at normal foot pressure. If the pedal goes down further at the first time, but gradually rises after the second or third time, the brake booster is functioning properly.

.
check the brake booster internal membrane /boot is ok

is its non return valve ok

Testimonial: "ok thank you I will check the booster this weekend"

Having a idling problem with my 1990 toyota 3.0 v6. Truck idles fine until I hit the brake and it starts to go up and down but only when brake is pressed.

Hi Dalton
your toyota problem is the brake booster (servo) ,
I don't know if you have noticed that, when you press the brake pedal you can hear the air leaks , is like a whistling noise.
Good luck

What are symptoms for bad brake booster on 1998 Dodge Ram 1500?

Hard brake pedal when applied with the engine running. A quick test for the vacuum assist booster is to shut off engine, pump brake pedal 3 or 4 times and hold on the last pump, start engine and see if pedal drops a bit....if you detect a problem with booster you should check for adequate engine vacuum supply to booster when idling . You can sometime hear a hissing or air leaking when applying brake pedal with engine running if booster is defective

1989 Corvette brakes leak air everytime I press them and they are hard to press in

The air leak you hear is vacuum leaking from booster and also the hard pedal is also due to the booster, replace the vacuum brake booster and this will solve your problem. good day.

Have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500. Truck runs fine until it heats up and the termostat kicks in. It will not idle and the rpms go up and down between 300 and 1000 then stalls. When on the highway it runs fine...

likely your throttle position sensor or idle air control valve. Try disconnecting each one when the problem starts if it corrects you have found the culprit.

Fiat Uno Pacer - Brake Booster not assist braking

it could be that the master cylinder is bad or the brake booster is bad also check the vacum hose going to the brake booster if it has a hole in it it will lose pressure and make the engine lose rpms

Jeep stalls

I had the same problem... frustrating.

I picked up a repair manual at the parts store. I took off the throttle body and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner spray. I changed the Idle Air Control Valve (idle speed motor) which was very clogged. While I had the throttle body off I also changed the Map Sensor and Throttle Position Sensor. The manual will walk you through the steps. I had never done anything like this before. If I can do you so can you.
My Jeep has never run better. Good Luck
