1995 Mercury Cougar XR7 was equipped with 3 different engines:
3.8L NON-SC VIN CODE [4]
3.8L SC VIN CODE [R]
4.6L V-8 VIN CODE [W]

The crank sensor for both of the 3.8L engines is located at the lower right FRONT of the engine.

The crank sensor for the 4.6L engine is located at the lower right REAR of the engine.

its on the driver side of the motor on the botton there no easy way to change it make sure u undo the battery

hi, if the key less entry dont work or if you have replaced the batterys and it dont work then the only way to get it programmed is by taking it to the main dealers as they are the only place you can get them programed they do this to stop people stealing another car.

So the only place to get this done is main dealers.

To activate the autolock feature, use the following steps:

1. Enter the five-digit permanent entry code into keyless entry keypad (14A626) .

1. Press and hold the 7/8 button on the keyless entry keypad within five seconds of entering the code.

1. Press and then release the 3/4 button within five seconds of pressing and holding the 7/8 button.

1. Release the 7/8 button on keyless entry keypad within five seconds of releasing the 3/4 button. To deactivate the autolock, repeat the above sequence.
