Adding power steering fluid 2 a 2004 chevy malibu

your 2007 Chevy Malibu power steering assist location is the bottom side of the steering column, above the driver's legs.you have an electric power assist motor

Any 'off the shelf' conventional domestic power steering fluid. Bottle should state "domestic"(GM, FORD,CHRYSLER). For engine oil use a quality brand 5/30, Mobil 1, Valvoline ,etc..

The reason you cannot locate a fluid reservoir is because there is none. Your car has an electric power steering. If the problem continues to persist, you may have to replace the power steering pump.

the 2004 malibu does not have a place to put transmission fluid it has a electric power steering system and does not use fluid, if you are having a problem with the power steering light chimming and lighting up this is under a recall that chevy has obligated to fix. So if your car is doing this take it to your local chevy dealership and have them to repair it for you. Hope this helps.

If it's power steering fluid, take it to a dealership, i was told chevys power steering fluid is "all electrical"!!!

USE GM POWER STEERING FLUID IF EQUIPPED.BUT MOST NEW 2006 TO 2009 MODELS HAS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING.DONT USE POWER STEERING FLUID.

There is no power steering fluid in the system.A 2005 Malibu is electronic steering.If you lose assist you may have to replace the steering column.You may also have an intermediate shaft that is binding.The I-shaft connects your steering column to the steering gear.There is a universal joint in the shaft that may be stiff or seized.

This can be VERY expensive I would first contact GM customer assitance the phone number should be in your owners manual.Maybe depending on your milage they will split the cost with you.I worked 20 plus years for GM and they helped alot my customers.
