SOURCE: BATTERY IS DRAINING EVEN WHILE CAR IS NOT IN USE

I stated "such as a light " there are many, many other causes of 12 volt drains such as a seat switch that might hang up and stick. Empty that battery overnight. First install a 9V Battery Radio memory / and clock or you will have to reset both. Disconnect BLACK negative cable of battery. Using a 12V testlight, connect one end to the disconnected cable, and the other to the negative battery terinal. It should light. Remove the 20A BODY and LIGHTER fuse first . This will eliminate the courtesy light circuit . If light goes off the drain is on that circuit. STILL LIT ? drain is on another circuit. Start by eliminating fuses. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Brand new battery is dead with nothing left on. Bad ground?

Remove positive battery terminal from battery & put a 12 volt test light in line between cable & battery post. As long as 12 volt light is illuminated, you have a draw. Start pulling & re-installing fuses, one at a time, until you see it dim or go out. If it goes out, you found your draw. If it dims, slight draw, such as radio memory etc. if all else fails, make sure you know where they all go, then pull them all, and start putting back one at a time. When light comes on bright, you found the circuit causing the draw.

SOURCE: Battery drain

Can't say if it is the cause of your drain or not, but the radio fuse is slot F7 and requires a 25-amp fuse.

SOURCE: locks go crazy, alarm goes off, now the car won't start.

I've had this problem under warranty on my '05 Malibu LS. They replaced and reprogrammed the fobs. Looking in my shop manual, it seems the problem is from the content theft deterrent (CTD) system. My car started doing this two years later off warranty and now I just lock the doors from the outside with the key or by pushing the lock stem buttons by hand on each door. The security option in the DIC needs to be set to RKE for this to work though.

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Freestyle, Battery draining.

Someone will have to disconnect the battery and check all of the circuits for a voltage drain.

2003 1.2 Micra 16vsebattery draining ,by removing the audio fuse will this be sufficient to isolate the radio as the drainage source?

Most radios have a switched power and a memory power which means the fuse to pull will have power with the key off.

My nissan micra needed a new battery and now the radio wont work, i have the code but the number 2 button wont work can anyone help

You must have the radio repaired to enter the code, there is no way around the problem of the inoperable button. Next time use a battery back up, never completely power down the system. Walmart has these battery power supplies.

How do you recode the radio in my 2005 vw beetle

You can run your radio a number of days and will not run the battery way down. I had a car that did that and each night when I shut the car off I disconnected one fuse and did that till the battery did not run down. It took several times and I would write down the fuse I pulled. I found something was malfunctioning in my air conditioning switch area. My mechanic replaced something and is ok now. Not saying that is your problem.

i'd say 2 completely different issues, did key work when you bought vehicle,i'd say ones a replacement and they may not have coded it to immobiliser, horn may be horn itself ,but often the moving parts behind steering wheel fail, have you checked the fuse?the relay can often fail to

Sorry my car was not listed so picked Altima 2003 Micra Intelligent key fob not working properly. Can drive the car but cannot open or lock the doors. Did get fob wet. Now dried out. Worked for first few...

You are going to need to check the power lock control moduel on the inside of the door panel. If the FOB appears to be working but the doors are not unlocking, you need to check this. I would also replace all fuses that control the locks. If both of these devices check out ok, you may need to replace your FOB. To check your power lock control moduel, manually lock and unlock your doors by pressing the lock button on the inside of the door. If it does not work, it is either the fuses or the power lock control moduel. If it works, your FOB has gone bad. Hope this helps! Please rate 4 thumbs up!

How to unlock Nissan Micra Boot that wont respond to remote

The problem is water getting into the boot switch and shorting out the contacts. A new boot switch is required which you can get from nissan for about £55. I have recently fitted one myself and its a very easy and quick job to do.
