SOURCE: trunk latch wont hold shut on my 02 cavalier

Make sure it is not binding/sticking where you pull the release cable.

Drench the entire works in WD-40. Push it back and forth until it moves with no resistance.

Make sure the part that hooks onto the latch hasn't come loose enough to not slide over when it makes contact.

If that doesn't work, take the whole thing off. You'll have to anyway to replace it. Chances are with it disassembled you'll see what's wrong.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx. It has a TC

i think it stands for traction control. most cars with that say ETC which stands for electronic traction control. if you have a manual for the car it should say what it is.

My car a 2000 Chevy malibu started over heating and reached 260 degrees and then car randomly shut off.... I Let it cool down put some antifreeze in it and started it back up drove it 15 miles down road...

In a way it has a fail switch, the shut down was triggered by a program in the computer. I would suspect the thermostat stuck closed, suggest you replace it.

My Chevy 2,000 Mailbu will not start. Sometimes when I try to start it the trunk will pop open. Can you please help?!

Its time to replace the battery. This is common in Chevy cars, if the battery goes bad it doesn't hold a charge anymore. Whats happening in your case is the low voltage isn't keeping the trunk relay closed. When you turn the key all the juice goes to the stater and lets the truck pop open. Just to prove my point, give it a jump start and it will fire right up and the trunk will stay closed.

Just need a fuse diagram

There is one in the engine bay, its about 6 in long and 4 in wide and has a black cover and on the inside of the cover it will tell you what each plug means.
There is also one inside the cabin on the passenger side of the center console, its pretty well hidden. Just pull at the back of the plastic (by the firewall) and it should pop free.

I don't know if this can help you, I had a Malibu 2005 and it has 3 boxes of fuses: in the middle, side of passenger when the foot rest. Other in the hood, driver side, black box and tha last one in the trunk, left side. Cigarette lighter fuse is in the trunk, left side, fuse #20 , yellow It should be accessible through a small door in the side panel of the trunk. Should be a 20 amp. small blade fuse. DO NOT PUT IN A FUSE RATED FOR MORE THAN 20 amps. The wiring harness can't handle it.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Car won't start after using Auto headlights on 2005 Lexus LS430

The trunk should auto close when you manually lower the lid to the almost closed position, but it is NOT designed to open up fully when you hit the trunk release on the key fob, nor when you open the trunk manually using the touch sensitive button under the lip of the trunk.
