Have someone get one for you at a local junkyard. Now I know what you are thinking JUNKYARD !!
Many junkyards out there specialize in late model cars like yours and usually have great pieces like the one you need.

So call many junkyards using your local yellow pages and you'll fing one that specializes in late model used parts. Have someone with good mechanical knowledge remove the cluster...it can
be tricky.

How do i change the indicator bulbs cant get to them

Indicator bulbs for what? If you are talking about indicator bulbs in your instrument cluster, you must remove the instrument cluster to replace them. Then, it depends on what kind of car you are talking about. Some of the newer instrument clusters use non-replaceable, LED lamps. When these fail, the entire instrument cluster must be replaced or shipped out for repair.

Dash lights does not work

First thing I would check is to see if you have blown the fuse for the instrument cluster / lights. Also check that the dimmer switch for the instrument panel has not been inadvertently moved to its lowest setting.

Please vote if this helped! Thanks, Mike

I have a 2001 chevy impala my tempature gauge completely quit working 2 days ago and my gas gauge is all over the place i dont know if its full or empty.. most of the time it stays at half or a little...

It sounds like the voltage regulator for the insturment cluster is malfunctioning -- that's why you got the recommendation to replace the instrument cluster.

If it were just the temp guage failing, the problem could be a faulty temp sending unit in the engine block. However, with more than one guage failing, it sounds more like an insturment-voltage- regulator problem.

An instrument cluster would contain the voltage regulator.

It's possible that the voltage regulator cold be repaired and an entire cluster would not be needed.

More info, please let me know.

1995 Lexus 400 instrument cluster light not working. It appears to be some capacitor related problem in the cluster circuit board whic is very common prblem in ls400 from 90 - 98 models. Does anybody know...

While the instrument clusters in all the 1995 ls-400 look the same, they are not created equal. They use different part numbers for the same model year. So the repair depends on the cluster part number itself because different part numbers, means they have different circuits boards, and different parts inside, and this includes the numbering of the capacitor locations inside. So the idea of "which capacitor to look for" depends on the particular circuit board version or part number you have.

Incidentally, the "capacitor repair" fix you see on the web to repair the burned out cluster lights issue doesn't apply to the 1995 instrument cluster. It applies to the 1994 and earlier instrument cluster. Similarly, you can't put a 1997 cluster inside a 1995 ls400 because the blue plug on the cluster is a different size. So it's critical the part number of the cluster needs to be identified before you can repair or replace one. The 1995 ls400 could have an instrument cluster with part number 83010-50592 or 83010-50590 or 83010-50600 etc... Instrument clusters are not simply interchangeable with ones with different part numbers either, because the vehicle ECU is programmed to only work with the specific cluster part number that originally came with the vehicle.

Also Lexus dealers are no longer replacing these because the part is no longer manufactured. However, you can get them repaired. Search the web for "lexus ls400 instrument cluster repair"

Location of part #... This one is 83010-50600...

Gluster gauge won't illuminate

Hello hayeizmyhome...Very low mileage for a 1990 model. However... this is usually around the mileage interval the dreaded instrument cluster, panel and dash light failures start...lights will flicker, then go out, gauges will start going up and down, lcd's will become hazey and hard to read....etc.
The instruments are illuminated both day and night while the ignition is on.
When the ignition is off, the panel goes dark and you can’t see the gauges at all.
The lexus has an electronic circuit board behind the inst. cluster that has been the problem. Very expensive repair if done by dealer.
*TIP* This circuit board can be repaired if you know a good electrical technician much cheaper.
The recommended timing belt replacement interval on the LS is 120k...water pump should be replaced also, the timing belt runs the water pump. The LS has a non-interference engine, meaning if the belt breaks, no damage will be done to the engine...
Hope this answers your questions..and your lexus runs for many more miles...with proper care and maintainnace, it will.
