Got a 2002 blazer 2wd 4.3 v6. My headlights, dome light, and dash lights lightly flicker, and headlights dim when hitting the brakes. Anyone know where the short is, and/or how to fix it?

My cigarette lighter/odb reader fuse blows...is that all it is? Also, heater only blows cold air. No air in the system, and I can hear the actuator working when I turn it to warm. Is that a separate problem, or ???

Jeremiah, one place to look is your brake switch connector near the fender. That area there is prone to shorts, mine had exposed wires there from all the movement of the brake, and the wires being a tad too short. New longer pigtail solved my problem.

That's extremely helpful. I think the problem is the diode, but I did not think about those wires...now I know about it.Thank you!

Oh! I forgot one problem I may be able to help you with. Warm air, go warm up your vehicle, when up to temperature, feel both the hoses going into the fire wall. Should both be hot. If not, report back, I have a fix for you.

Thanks! That makes sense, there's no problem unless truck is running

Cruise turns off when we roll down the windows

Strange electrical problems can sometimes be attributed to a bad ignition switch. The battery should also be load tested, especially if it is more than 4 - 5 years old.

I have a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. When I am in drive and I hit the brake pedal the brake light on the dash lights up and the headlights dim. Does anyone know why this is occurring?

You may have a short circuit somewhere in the brake light wiring. Possibly at the stop lights between them and the tail lights.

Is there a specific fuse for the interior dash lights for this vehicle? Mine will only work when I turn on the dome light?

The dash lights have a fuse. If this fuse is good then check your brake light fuse. If the brake light fuse is blown then no power will go to your dash lights. This is a safety feature to alert you to faulty brake lights.

Lights keep going dim on mini cooper s 2007 dashboard

You don't say if it's "just" the dash lights, or if other lights do it as well. Try turning on a dome light and see if the dome light does it along with the dash lights. Do you notice your headlights doing this as well? These are just troubleshooting steps. If multiple light sources (dome, headlight, etc.) do it, then it's most likely a voltage regulator issue.
