My 2009 Chevy Malibu just had a new battery put in within the last 60 days. Then around 19 Dec 2016 my wave plate broke and I needed a new transmission. Got it fixed and received my car back on 29 Dec 2016. Today, 2 Jan 2017 my battery light comes on and stays on. The manual says to keep the radio and AC off and not to drive long distances. What is this?

The light means that your battery is not being charged properly. It could be that when the transmission was replaced, they alternator belt was not put in properly or tight enough. I'd do the following:
1. Check battery connections to make sure they are clean and tight.
2. Check the drive belt to the alternator. It should be tight and not slipping.
3. If neither of the above is the problem, fully charge the battery with a battery charger so you can drive it for a while. Don't drive it without charging or you may get stranded. Don't let the battery run all the way down either or it may ruin it.
3. Check alternator output by driving to a nearby auto store or the place you had it repaired. They usually can check your charging system for free. The alternator could have decided to malfunction, although it's pretty new.
Good luck...

2009 chevy malibu is losing power from battery when car is running. Put in new alternator and battery and starter.

Have your electrical system tested. Just because you put in a new alternator does not guarantee it's working correctly.

My 2009 Chevy Malibu will no longer start remotely from the key fob. The alarm will sound and the lights will flash when I attempt to start it from the remote. How do I fix this?

Possible low/partially shorted vehicle battery. I would have the battery/charging system thoroughly tested. Depending on when your 2009 Malibu was manufactured, (possibly in mid-2008) your battery is getting to be close to 4 years old. It may be time to replace it. With all the electronics that are continuously operating on that vehicle (even when it is turned off) it only takes a small "glitch" in the vehicle battery to cause all kinds of strange computer malfunctions. Also check/replace the battery in your key fob and try it again.

My 03 POS Malibu has had $4,000 in repairs the last few years. Now it won't start after driving! Have to wait an hour or so.

Are there any lights on the dash when this happens? Look for a light that says security or antitheft. If you see this, go to this link. That would explain the symptoms

I can't figure out where to put power steering fluid in my 2004 chevrolet malibu

the 2004 malibu does not have a place to put transmission fluid it has a electric power steering system and does not use fluid, if you are having a problem with the power steering light chimming and lighting up this is under a recall that chevy has obligated to fix. So if your car is doing this take it to your local chevy dealership and have them to repair it for you. Hope this helps.

Battery draining

We have an HHR SS 2009, it is on its 3rd battery. Just had it hauled in again today. Batteries they are using are made in China Delco is telling me, as long as it is in warranty I will have them keep hauling it. The first time they put a battery in it sat for 6 days and was dead when we went to start it, this time only 3 days. I am not pleased with my purchase at thsi point.
