Where is the tempurture cooling sensor located on a 1994 buick regal

The coolant temperature sensor is a thermistor mounted in the engine coolant stream. A thermistor is an electrical device that varies its resistance in relation to changes in temperature.

For 2.5L engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the left side of the cylinder head.

For MFI engines, the coolant temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold water jacket or near (or on) the thermostat housing.

I have a 97 corolla, when I first start it in the morning it starts fairly easy, but when it warms up and im running errands around town, it cranks longer before it wants to restart, and its getting worse,...

The engine coolant temperature sensor could be stuck in the cold mode. This would activate the cold start injector even with the engine warm--and flood the engine with too much fuel, making for long crank times. The engine coolant temperature sensor (ECT) is usually located close to the thermostat housing. It has two wires coming from it. The coolant temperature sender for the dash gauge is not the same. It only has one wire and grounds through the engine block. It is easy to get them confused.

Engine light code p171 comes up. I recently changed the air flow sensor. Everything else is working fine. What can this be in a Toyota Corolla 2003?

DTC P0171 is set when fuel trim is driven rich beyond a certain value. Possible causes are:
1. Exhaust system leak.
2. Improper fuel pressure.
3. Fuel injector restricted.
4. Defective heated oxygen sensor No. 1.
5. Defective Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
6. Defective Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.

System Too Lean. This code will set when an air fuel ratio sensor (O2 sensor) gets lazy.

Also, check for a vacuum leak on that side.

Follow the hose from the bottom of the radiator to the point where in reaches the engine block. That's where the thermostat is located and the Engine Coolant Temperature switch is there too.
