How do I get the ABS/VDC/AWD lights off on my 2008 Nissan Rouge not that I have replaced my left ABS Wheel speed sensor?

I have replaced the left abs wheel speed sensor twice in my 2008 Nissan rogue and the code reader still says it is bad and my dash lash lights ABS/VDC/AWD/BRAKES will not go off

I replaced the hub wheel bearing on a Nissan Altima 2008 since then my abs Hazzard and skid light stays on what do I do

Damaged wheel speed sensor or speed sensor wiring harness. First get the trouble code read tho. That's ALWAYs the starting point. An ABS code will prevent traction and stability systems from working.

What is a vdc light

Vehicle Dynamic Control, measures inputs from different sensors ie: wheel speed from ABS wheel sensors, trans gear position & speed, Yaw rate, throttle position, etc then makes determination on how to best control veh in a certain situation (accelerating to hard through a turn, wheel spin on wet pavement, sliding during hard stops and such). Can do one or a combination of commands to recover an out of control veh like release brake psi to locked wheel (ABS), limit accelerator, down shift trans, even transfer shift power from side to side/frt to back on some models.

ABS Light Stays On

Since you replaced the pick up units or sensors, check the tone rings on the axle shafts. The tone rings is what the sensors detect and are located at each wheel that has ABS. A tone ring looks like this:

1_3_2013_9_47_55_pm.jpg
This tone ring is on a Ford Ranger - which is pretty much the same as your Mointaineer. Notice the break in the tone ring. This will cause an ABS Fault indicator and will need to be replaced to extinguish the lamp. Check the brake fluid level and top off if needed.

Try another AutoZone or similiar to get a code and be non-specific about the light - just say a light came on on the dash and you don't know what it is about.

Good luck!
