My 1998 Toyota RAV4 airbag light is staying on. How do I turn it off.

you need to get in touch with toyota they had a recall on your vehicle due to airbag.THE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY CONTAINS ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS TO THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE HOUSED IN A SPIRAL CABLE ASSEMBLY, WHICH INCLUDES A FLEXIBLE FLAT CABLE (FFC). DUE TO THE SHAPE AND LOCATION OF THE FFC'S RETAINER, THE FFC COULD BECOME DAMAGED WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED.
Consequence: IF THE FFC IS DAMAGED, CONNECTIVITY TO THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG MODULE COULD BE LOST AND THE AIR BAG DEACTIVATED. THE FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S AIR BAG TO DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT TYPICALLY NECESSITATES DEPLOYMENT INCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE DRIVER.

If you're not certified to work on the airbag system then don't mess with because you can. KILL YOUSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE LEAVE IT ALONE

The light is on due to a fault in the system and airbag system has disabled itself. You must have it diagnosed to see what fault codes are present that turned on this light.

On the gear shift is a button to turn on and off the overdrive. She pushes the button and now it is off. The RPM will change noticeably between on and off.

checheck your all fuse you have one fuse box under hood and one in the car check both plase and all fuses

You have a system malfunction,that is way the light is on.
Have it diagnosed and taken care of.
Don't need a dealer

i sank my 1997 rav4 at river. Since air bag light is on constantly while engine is on. How do i switch off airbag light?

have you tried the spare key..usually the red light comes on even when the battery for the remote is low.you can tell when the battery is low as you have to get nearer the car to unlock it.....

ask the dealer nicely and iam sure he sort it for you ,most likely its stupid sensor fault throwing light on nothing serious
