2001 Hyundai elantra. Headlights, electric

2004 Hyundai Elantra a real melt down (or just humor to say battery died as all do often)
most batteries never last 10 years, ever.(my 50y records me)

1. check all fuses first cab and engine bay.
2. check battery voltage running 13 to 15vdc good less is alternator is dead, (3 fuses bad makes new alternators fail too)
3. you never put the battery in backwards right?
4. you never jump started the car jumper cables backwards right?
5. scan the PCM yet, I bet it tells DTC errors, that you missed.
6. PCM means DLC ODB2 16pin port, all USA cars have 96 up.
7. what does melt down mean and doing what? IDK.

a blown fuse could cause the power windows to stop working. take it to your hyundai repair shop if you are unable to find the blown fuse.

You shorted something out. Check all fuses and relays. I think you blew a relay not a fuse.

Hi, behind your climate control panel is something called the Electronic Timing and Control Module (ETACM). This is like a computer for the chassis. All of the troubles you mention are tied into the ETACM. If you could find a used module at a salvage yard, it may solve your problems at a reasonable cost. To troubleshoot the problem will be very difficult and must be left to the dealer, which could be expensive. Just the same, I have included a few of the wiring diagrams in case you have a good multimeter and would like to try troubleshooting.

There is a "body control unit" that runs most of the interior stuff. It is up under the dash on the drivers side. It has helped me greatly.

did you get your headlight switch checked.

A fuse DOES NOT control the low beam headlights... a RELAY does.

check your fuses sounds like you burnt one

1. Remove the switch from the door trim panel. 2. Check for continuity between the terminals. If continuity is not as specified in the table, replace the power window switch. POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH WINDOW LOCK SWITCH
