2004 Pontiac Bonneville SLE How do I turn off the E-brake Chime?

My E-brake cable snapped a couple weeks ago and the cable I need hasn't been manufactured since 2013. My mechanic is looking for one to replace it but in the meantime, the chime goes off nonstop. How can I turn off the alarm?

Disconnect a wire to the chime
cables that no longer in production can be made in a reputable brake shop from the sample
there are cable makers in industry that make cables to samples so find a cable /chain retailer and take the sample to them
it seems strange that a 3 year old car does not have spares still available so I would be checking around spares departments or brake repairs shop as well

Have a Pontiac Bonneville sle 2004 was driving it heard a loud pow or pop then it wouldn't accelerate in drive it still has reverse was able to drive in 2 gear home

Sounds like transmission ban snapped ,time to rebuild

I would check to see if the spark plugs are fouled. Or you might have a bad ignition control module (mounted under the coil packs). Auto Zone can test the ignition control module.

Which light is on ? The ABS light or regular Brake light?
If ABS light is on, your ABS is currently not working and it might be an electrical problem.
If the regular brake light is on something is wrong with the hydralics in the brake system. Either way bring it in ASAP. Good luck
