The fuel injector, two wire connector, one is voltage, goes hot with the key on. The other is ground, controlled by the computer. The computer needs to see rpm signal to pulse the ground.
From the ignition module to computer, purple wire with white tracer carries rpm signal to computer, if no signal, the computer won't ground the fuel injectors, in my opinion.
If you have a digital multimeter that has a tach setting, it should react to a dc pulse on that purple wire with white tracer, engine cranking.
The usual culprit is the ignition module, but, I can't rule out other possibilities.
Engine cranking, do you have spark at the spark plugs?

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1986 gmc vandura 3500 cargo van?I followed the fuel lines from the tank all the way,I just can not seem to find it.thanks Martin

should be in the base of the carb, right behind that big nut on the fuel inlet. Loosen the fuel line, using a 5/8" wrench on the line nut, and a 1" wrench on the larger nut. remove the fuel line, then back the large nut out, and the filter will be behind that. have a good day !

Replaced the Fuel Delevery System/Pump and the in-line fuel filter on my 93 GMC Vandura Van 2500. Van turnes over; however, no fuel in getting to the engine. I have checked the Fuel Pump...

install a fuel pump guage and check pressure at key on and start, it should hardly vary, it the pressure is constant check the injector signal with a noid light, while you are at it check spark(no spark no injector signal) you won't find a relay fuse

Where is the fuel sensor? I have a 1987 GMC

What kind of fuel sensor are you referring to?
If you mean the fuel tank level, it is usually in the top center of the gas tank.
There is usually an air sensor that tells the fuel injection processor how much fuel it should squirt, based on time, but it does not sense how much gas actually got squirted.
The oxygen sensor is sort of like a fuel sensor, in that if there is too much fuel, the oxygen sensor will read too low, and the system will reduce the fuel squirt volume. And the oxygen sensor is usually in the bottom of the exhaust manifold or the top of the exhaust pipe.

Gmc vandura 1996, 3500 running rich

There could be all kinds of reasons your vehicle runs rich. It should be fuel injected not carborated. It could have a bad injector, bad air filter, o2 sensors etc. Have it scaned for the reason.
