SOURCE: Heater Core Replacement for 1986 Buick Electra Park Ave

there is no easy way to change out a heater core...you have to take the bottom part of the dash loose and that takes some doing. once you get the bottom of the dash apart you will see the heater core.then you have to go under the hood and unhook both water lines that run to it, you should then be able to pull the heater core out and install the new one

SOURCE: location of fuse or actuator for door lock on 1992 Buick Park Ave

Is it an actuator itself? If the lock clicks but really doesn't lock or unlock it could just be a linkage problem. There are some little plastic doohickies on the ends of the linkages that wear out and drop off. You can get those in the right auto parts store. Do all the door locks not work? Then, yes it could be the fuse. Usually a diagram on the fuse box cover, or even printed next to the fuse. If one door lock doesn't work, does it not work from just one switch or both switches? If it works from one switch, then of course it's the other switch. If it's the drivers door lock, then of course there's only one switch. (More often, it's a switch, not an actuator.) The drivers door switches come in a pad of four. It'd be cost-effective to get a used pad from a salvage yard. They can be checked with an ohmmeter right there, and they'd probably do it for you. Or take yours along. You'll have to remove the door panel at any rate. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver, and there's a nifty tool at the parts store for prying the clips on the back of the panel out of the door shell. You might want to find a local shade tree mechanic to guide you or do the job. It helps to be a little double-jointed. Price that stuff new, let your wallet and patience be your guide.

Have a 2000 buick park ave. after changing plugs and wires check engine light still on. computer code says misfiring number 5. What part needs changing? Im thinking the coil?

Yes start with the coil pak. There are three located on the front of the engine on the pass side, you probably know this. They are marked as to which cylinder each wire goes to, disconnect the wire for #5 cylinder, and if the engine misfire does NOT change, it is more than likely that Coil Pak. Replace it, and use dilectric grease on the two contacts when reinstalling it. Now, I have stumbled on this issue many times and if that does not cure the issue (I think it will), the coil module below the coil pack is probably bad...To remove this module, remove the coil paks, the electrical connector in front (has bolt holding it in) and I remember one bolt holding the module to the aluminum bracket.

Again, to be sure you can switch coil paks around to make sure it is a coil pak. When you switch the bad with a good, the misfire will follow the coil pak, if it does not it is the module.]

Hope this helps.

1992 park ave transmission slips fluid and

It probably did not slip before the fluid was changed I so the clutches are worn out and need to be replaced The worn fibers were still in the old fluid causing the fluid to be thicker filling the voids much better to shift. Now once drained and new fluid installed it slips

The relay assmbly is located on the heater case under the hood in the same area as the blower motor its fairly big 2 or 3 7mm hex screws hold it in. its a module on the top of the case with 2 connectors on it guarantee this should fix it..
