Whet is my 2007 Toyota Rav4 losing oil out of the tall pipe and how do I fix it.

Could the valve stem oil seals or worn piston rings or turbo oil seal blowing oil

Tools:

Oil Drip Pan (Find a local auto shop that you can pass the dirty oil to at no cost)
14-inch wrench to remove Oil Pan Lugnut
4.5 quarts of oil
Filter

Unusual for Toyota, have you checked your oil level? If it is a loud knocking, it could be a bad piston in the engine. Did you overheat the car at any point? The alloy head can warp easily if you get the engine too hot. Also check your coolant level to see if you are losing fluid. If the oil is white looking you have a serious issue with coolant mixing with the oil. Is it still under warranty for the powertrain, engine, transmission etc.?

Your 2007 RAV4 requires 4.5 quarts SAE 5w20 with filter change. I use Pennzoil and highly recommend it but all major brands are good. Use a quality filter such as Wix, Purolator, or Bosch. Change your oil/filter every 5,000 miles if using conventional oil and every 7,000 miles if using synthetic if you drive normally.

The aftemarket oil is called PAG 46.

Just look under your car on the passenger side near the wheel, and you will see the oil filter right next to the oil drain container. Hope this helps. :o)

3000 to 5000 owner preferance

I just did this procedure 5 mins ago on my 2007 RAV....some procedures state to do it from the ODO position but that will not work....use the procedure below.

Set odometer to Trip A
Turn the key off
press and hold the ODO button.
Turn key to ON
Continue holding button while the light goes through the series of the ----countdown and then flashes 0000. Release the button and turn key to OFF.
