Under the front seats you have wires going to your seat belt anchors. These wires are atached to a sensor witch activate the air bags if the anchors have force pull on them. The wires have plugs under the seat.Disconnect the plugs and spray with electical cleaner and replace.Make sure the ignition is switched off befor you attemt doing.90%of the time this will work.good luck.

The alternator does come out from the top. You need to loosen the two motor mount on top of the radiator support and rock the engine forward and secure it. Then removed the windshield wiper module cover, and you should have access to get it out.
I recommend for safety reasons, if you are not a experienced mechanic that you take the van somewhere for that service. When it comes to rocking engines and securing them, you are better off having a professional doing it for you.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Did you get the wires all back in place? What voltage do you have at the output of the alternator? Measure the voltage with the engine running and not running.
