I could use 1996 rav4 wiring diagram. Some circuit is grounding out.

So get a wiring diagram
Study that-- to learn the injector signal
Then do your testing of the circuits
Check all ground wires
Check all fuses
Check all wire connectors
Check all fusible links
Check Battery

Did you check the fuses? Bad grounds cause odd problems. 9 out of 10 times it is a voltage not ground problem.

I suggest to check underhood engine bay, according with this wiring diagram, look under EEC (Electronic Engine Control 1992) or PCM (Powertrain Contro Module 1996-1996)...

ALso, I suggest to check wiring circuit C185, located in THIS LINK DIAGRAM (top right)

You need a wiring diagram & start testing for
open circuits,lack of grounds or voltage drops,
on the circuit your having issues with

The AutoZone website may have a wiring diagram in the sites self help repair section.

If you have a voltmeter check for voltage and ground continuity at the bulbs. Check for voltage before and after the brake switch (operate the switch). If you don't have a voltmeter connect something up with a 12V bulb.

If you have voltage after the switch (when operated) but none at the bulb might check the brake/tail light sensor. This is the actual sensor box located in the trunk, drivers side. The sensor can fail resulting no brake lights.

There have been various posts at this forum on the sensor, suggest you do a site search to find these and review them.

But first start checking for voltage.

The heat cut's out ? The heater blower motor stops working ? Testing the electrical circuit would be the proper way to diagnose . Looking at a wiring diagram an using a DMM - digital multi-meter , an doing amp draw test on the blower motor . The PRND321 an blower motor probably share a ground or power point . Looking at a wiring diagram for both circuit's would show that . Not a short , more likely a loose ground connection . Check if the wiring is in tact to the sensor. If u have a I pin sensor ck for ground/ 2 pin ck for ground & 5v. 9 out of 10 times its a bad sensor. Ck coolant level too & fan operation

If someone hard wired the ground, and everything is working, leave it alone. otherwise you will need to find out why that was done and correct the problem with the aid of a good diagram and some actual tracing with a test light or meter. Also, check the remainder of the circuits to make sure that the ground is the problem and not another wire.
