SOURCE: heater blower install for 1997 cadillac eldorado

The solution is more than likely a new blower motor. Replacing this blower motor is no small task. I am in the process of doing it, but there is so little wiggle room that I suspect that if a cadillac mechanic does this job, they will jack up the engine/transaxle to make room. The motor itself is not cheap either, a replacement Delco is well over $200. I will let you know if my new motor install works.

SOURCE: heater blower motor on 1996 cadillac eldorado

very tight but you can clear the engine just moving some spark plug wires and the vacuum controls (controlled units?) right in front of it. when you get the bolts off the blower fan housing and its free to move you just have to rotate it so the flat part can clear the rear valve cover. do yourself a favor and be sure to isolate the problem to the motor (and not the electrical connections or the computer disabling it for something rediculous like lack of a/c charge) as it's an expensive part for a little motor and worse (around 250 i think) if you need end up replacing the entire fan.

SOURCE: how to read codes for 2001 Eldorado Cadillac

Take a look at your air con controls on the centre console.

You will see an "OFF" button and to the right of this you will see a toggle switch with an up arrow with the word "PASS" just below it.

Simultaneously press the "OFF" button and the up arrow together for three seconds or so and release when you see the instrument cluster lights come on.
You are now in diagnostic mode.
Read the codes from the digital display on the instrument cluster.
Have a pen and note pad ready to write down the codes.

How to replace the heater core in a 1991 Cadillac Eldorado.

Not sure if this will help but this is on a 2001 Eldo which should be close to what you have. I would also suggest the library and check out a Chilton's repair manual for you car.

1983 cadillac eldorado, what i want to know is how do you remove the heater box so you can access the heater core. i am trying to replace the heater core..

You need to remove the glove box. Remove the Programmer from the heater box. The heater box has studs going through the firewall attached with speed nuts on the UNDERHOOD side of the firewall . The nuts on the lower part of the box cannot be seen , so must be felt, and then removed. Place rags on both openings of heater core so as not to leak any coolant into the car. Heater box once unbolted must be artfully removed from UNDER the dashboard. Hope this helps

Need to replace heater core in 76 Eldorado convertible

You dont have to remove the dash but it might make it a easier job if you did. The heater core is removed from under the R/S dash. after removing the lower dash covers, glove BOX, A/C programmer. Then from under the hood, disconnecting heater hoses, and removing heater case mounting bolts. Then finally jockying the heater box from under the dash without spilling coolant fronm the heater core is a trick. Hope this helps.
