I need a steering column diagram that shows you how everything goes in the steering column and comes out. My turn signal switch is broke on mine and I cannot figure out how to get it off. Thanks

Did you check for voltage at the turn fuse circuit, use a test light. Even if the fuse is good if no voltage, the circuit is still dead. The fuse circuit goes hot with the key on.
With the use of a wiring diagram to show wire colors, it is possible to check voltage going into the steering column and coming from the steering column for turn signal voltage.
auto zone can in most cases print you out at no cost and if not can sell you manual with diagrams in it and everything else on your car for around $20.00.....good luck..
your dimmer switch is mounted on the left side of the column & ignition switch is mounted on top of the steering, you could have a short in this area, there is a rod that goes from the lever to the dimmer switch, look for bare wires, remove the trim below the column, remove the clip for the shifter indicator & remove the 2 bolts holding the column up, this will give better view of the switches & wires.
go to your nearest chevy dealer parts dept. and ask for a blow up of the steering column. most of the time they are very helpful for the do it yourselfers.. but there aint nothin like the good old chiltons auto manual.. good-luck, ray
o.k... you broke the key off in the cylinder... right... o.k... can you turn the key? it you can... usually you just put the key in the acc position... and just pulls out... now... some ignitions use a pin to keep the cylinder in... just hope you don't have one... because you'll have to pull off the steering wheel and the turn signal switch... just to get to it... them you'll have to get a small screw driver and remove the pin... not easy... any way... just use a big flat head screw driver... and ever so gently... pry out... when you get a new one... reverse the procedure to install... hope this helps man
