Car started sputtering when I went to turn it on. Slight shaking until I eccelerated and then was fine until I put it in park again, then it shook again. I turned it off and then started it again with same shaking. Pulled code p0014 and p0017 from it. Guy at eurozone said get an oil change before buying parts.
So, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the codes are as follows.
P0017-Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation Bank 1 Sensor 'B'

So in short, you can try the oil change if its been a while, always a good practice, however the fact that its throwing both of these codes together, makes me heavily suspect that your car is experiencing the worst of the possible causes, all your symptoms are tell-tale signs of your cars timing being off, meaning a timing belt job is needed. I highly recommend trying your best not to drive that vehicle, if the timing belt grenades on you while your driving, it will cause catastrophic damage to your motor. I cannot stress to you enough to limit your driving. Timing belt jobs as a general rule of thumb, are anywhere from $700-$1000 depending on the shop, anything more and they are ripping you off. I've had a timing belt bust on another vehicle before and this doesn't seem the same. I've also had to replace a sensor before and this seems slightly similar but not with the same intense shaking as the other time. I live 40 minutes from town so I will need to drive the thing regardless. What now?
Start small, do the oil change especially if you haven't changed it in a while, see if it helps but do it very soon. The fact that both codes are so closely related it very well could be one of two of the sensors are damaged, or both the sensors are damaged, or the timing belt tensioner is starting to go, and your timing could be off by 1 or 2 degrees. Long story short, if you know how to work on cars, and the oil change doesn't help, I would start pricing out the camshaft and crankshaft sensors, and a timing belt kit, that may contain them. If you don't know how to do a timing belt job yourself, you need to get to a mechanic as soon as you can. I really hate to say that, as I understand how important a car is, especially with your commute, but those codes are pretty serious, and if left unattended it will ruin your car.
OK oil change first thing in morning. If it doesn't work I will replace the cam sensor first.. I do not know how to do a timing belt and they are PRICEY! I can change the sensors myself but not my oil (go figure)! Will my car be ok driving slow into town for oil change and maybe parts?
Unfortunately I really cannot gauge how safe it is to drive without a test drive! One drawback of the interwebs! If its been doing this for a little while, I mean truly its a 50/50, if the timing belt is about to go, every time you start the car is a risk it could go. My best advice is hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and just get the maintenance done as quickly as you can. Check out rock auto parts, typically they are reasonably priced compared to the big name stores.

Before you spend a lot of money trying to fix it or think its ready to die - my mechanic flushed the engine and replaced a solenoid and problem solved. I had a few random issues that were all resolved by this. My 09 currently has 240 thousand miles and still runs better than my 2018 ford focus with 70 thousand miles. Cobalt is still the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned and I got it from a buy here pay here place in NC with just over 100 thousand miles on it when I got it. Just replaced the entire front suspension and shocks and struts all the way around it because the engine and transmission are still solid and no rust on it anywhere.
