SOURCE: 1994 buick lesabre heater core removal

The heater core is located under the dash, in the center. The container holding the core looks like a black plastic box. Remove the ash tray for easier access. You may have to also remove some other covers under the dash. You must first drain the radiator then you have to disconnect the hoses. There are two hoses connected to nipples of the heater core that go thru the center of the firewall. Remove the screws that hold on the cover to the heater core. Then you should be able to get the old one out. There might be a couple of other minor steps but I'm sure you can figure them out. For re-installation just go in reverse order to put it all back together.

You have to remove the entire front of the heater case to change thecore. This usually looks a lot easier in print than it actually IS.Theinstructions say to remove the lower part of the dash for access; usually youdon't have to remove the entire dash for this type of service, althoughsometimes it makes things easier if you loosen and remove any components notmentioned in the procedure that are in your way.
This kind of repair can be frustrating, as it involves working in tightplaces and with 1/4 drive extensions and universal sockets to get all thefasteners out, but it IS possible. Here is what I have for the factoryprocedure. I don't know of any shortcuts to make the process easier; if you can'tget it off, perhaps removing the dash completely for more room would be aviable option...

SOURCE: How do you remove the interior panel on a back

Other than screws for armrests, there are op-in plastic holders that must be pried out of their moorings. A simple special pry-tool can be had for a few dollars at auto parts stores that will prevent some of the damage that normally results but the plastic parts often break when being pulled out so check if the store has a 'Help' display with specialized parts for just such an event.
You will find a precut plastic film once the panel is removed and pulling these from their sticky glue will often distort the film and make it a chore to reinstall well; use care and patience. This film is necessary to divert rainwater from motors or speakers so it must be reinstalled. If made as most, the adhesive stays sticky so the film will normally hold well enough to remount the film.

SOURCE: Remote often fails to unlock

  • I HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE KEY FOB, OR "REMOTE" . UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I OPENED UP THE REMOTE AND FOUND THAT THE THIN, SHINY METAL FRAME ENCLOSING AND CRADLING THE COIN-LIKE BATTERY (CR2025) HAD BEEN SEPARATED FROM THE SOLDER POINTS ON THE SILICON CHIP.

  • I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE CHIP (BUTTONS AND RUBBER COVERING SIDE) THAT THERE WAS DIRT, DEBRIS, AND OTHER GUNK WHICH WILL DEFINITELY SHORT CIRCUIT, CAUSING YOUR REMOTE'S BATTERY TO BE DISCHARGED OR MISFIRE. THIS IS BEST OBSERVED WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE A "STICKY" BUTTON EFFECT ONCE THE "LOCK" BUTTON IS DEPRESSED ONCE, BUT THE CAR FEED BACK SUGGESTS 2 PUSHES OF THE REMOTE WERE DETECTED. ANOTHER EXAMPLE: I COULD HAVE SWORN I PUSHED "UNLOCK" TWICE (UNLOCKING REAR DOORS )ON THE FOB/REMOTE BUT ONCE I GET TO THE CAR, DOOR IS STILL LOCKED! WTF.

SOLUTION:

KEEP KEY FOB / REMOTE CLEAN, REPAIR/REPLACE BROKEN BATTERY +/- CONNECTIONS IN THE REMOTE, REPLACE LITHIUM BATTERY

Well I am trying to find where the bolts are located for the heater core door or do I have to remove the dash

not knowing the make model and year it is hard to say
however as all cars are assembled in the factory with the heater core already installed , it generally becomes easier to remove the dash to exchange the heater core
talk with a radiator shop or a service center for how to do it

2006 buick lacrosse heater is not working

I strongly recommend you take it back to the dealer and ask for help.
If it is something they damaged, and you have another shop repair it, the dealer is then off the hook for responsibility.
The problem could be a blend door under the dash, or the heater core may not be getting proper coolant flow.

How to change heater core in buick lacrosse

Your Buick has a heater core o heat the air sent from the air conditioning unit before it is blown outwards. A malfunctioning heater core may cause the coolant to leak on the inside of the car, or It may even lead to smoke blowing out from the air vents.
Replacing the heater core will solve the problem, and to do so, you require a socket wrench and a Philips head screwdriver. Thi process is straight forward, but it may take up to an hour to finish
1. Pop open the hood, lift it, and then disconnect the bettery by using a socket wrench
2. On the passenger side, unwind the four screws from the kick panel which is underneath the glove box
3. Disconnect and remove the kick panel
4. Open the glove box, remove all contents within, and then unmounts the whole glove box by removing the screws
5. Pull down the flange, and you can access the heater core. To open it up - remove the two bolts from heater core cover and lift it off
6. Disconnect the core's wiring harness, then remove the four screws that are holding it in by using a Philips head screwdriver. Now you can easily remove the lousy heater core
7. Install the new heater core, then - reconnect wiring, screws, heater core case, and finally, the bolts
8. Reattach the kick panel and then glove box, and you are done

Heat guage shows normal temperature but heater throws cold air. Problem gets a bit better as engine is reved.

The heater core could be plugged up. Try to flush the heater core out, or replace the heater core in order to fix it. Also, check the heater core for hotness at two 1" diameter tubes at the firewall. If they're hot, then the blend door may be causing the problem.

Good luck on this repair.
