Check power feed or ground for intermittent connection. Also, check the motor brushes - worn brushes will not make proper all the time contact with commutator resulting in intermittent operation.
It could possibly be a baffle in the muffler that is causing it to vibrate with acceleration from the engine, or even a exhaust leak from a connection that broke or the gasket has failed. The catalytic convertor might also be the culprit. I would take the vehicle into a shop that specializes in exhaust work and let them put it up on lift to see whats actually going on.

to be honest you can not tell they never show there age much untill they snap that is!!! even if you took the belt off you may not see any were on it,but if you took it off you need to fit a new belt back on as its not very wise at all to use the same old belt
relatively easy. just weave the belt over, under and around the pulleys the way its show on the belt patter on the label on the radiator., or make note before pukking off old one. Good luck. Watch the fingers!
