Rear hatch is locked or unlocked with a key. (if equipped) • To open the rear hatch, insert the key into the lock, turn it to the unlock position and pull up the rear hatch by pressing the handle (DOOR). You can also lock/unlock the latch (but not release it) with the central door lock system. • If unlocked, the rear hatch can be opened by pressing the handle (DOOR) and pulling the hatch up. • To close the rear hatch, lower and push down the rear hatch firmly. Make sure that the rear hatch is securely latched.
NO PUN INTENDED. If u are asking about "if its a shock absorber" I professionally advise u not to tackle the repair. It may not even be a shock we're referring to.
To removed the door panel. Remove 1
screw in the grab handle pocket, 1 behind the door open lever, and 2
screws at the forward edge, the bottom edge, and the rear edge. Remove
the small window-corner speaker if equipped. Then lift off the door
panel. Don't lift too far, there are wires to disconnect.
Door won't open?
For
those of you whose door is shut and you
cannot open it, here is the trick that the Kia mechanic.
Insert the key into the door lock. In one quick motion, simultaneously
turn the key to the unlock position AND pull the handle. It took us
several attempts to finally get it to work.
you can go to a junkyard and find your car and get the door handles. this is a lot cheaper then the dealer, or maybe a auto parts store has replacement handles.
if the noise is while you are driving i would suggest rear wheel bearing, jack up both sides of the car at the rear and spin the wheels, the side where the noise is comming from will not spin as free as the good side. hope this has been helpfull
You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle,
arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the
panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want
to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal
(can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to
access everything inside the door
