ITs nothing atall to do with the fuel!!
some people ?????
check the fuel sender wire for a loose connector at the sender unit on the fuel tank its usaully located on the top of tank in the trunk or could be located on the side of tank [depends on the manufacturer]

I have a MB A170. The fuel guage decided to stop working. The guage shows empty and the reserve fuel light is on although there are fuel in the tank. Where can I look for the problem?

Most likely the float in your fuel tank is bad. if the float isn't working correctly your fuel gauge will show empty, put your fuel light on, or sometimes change fuel gauge dramatically. i don't know your model specifically however the float is usually part of the fuel pump as well. Your problem can also be caused just by a bad fuse (if a seperate fuse powers the float than the pump), power or negative wire disrupting the float information to the computer.

I was testing a new radio to se if it worked. Now the fuel gauge and amp gauge dont work. when I check for power on the radio leads the temp gauge goes all the way up and fuel goes below e. All of the

I would sugest when the temp gauge goes up you are actually earthing the wire for the temp guage. I think you have entered the wrong harness for the wires & you have connected the radio to your guages. Remove radio & reconnect wires where they were before.

Fuel gage not working on a 1998 vw jetta

i believe he means how can he fix the fuel gauge not working problem not the running out of gas. since we already know why that happened (didnt know he was out of gas due to broken fuel gauge) theres only a few things it could be. the gauges power source or ground could be corroded or broken, the guage itself is broken or the sending unit is worn out or the wiring is faulty or broken to it.

Gmc sierra 1500 97,brand new fuel pump, fuel guage doesnt work and sometime engine is bucking and stop, sometime restart sometime dont

Fuel pump and gauge does not work? Go to the harness connector near the tank and find the ground wire. Make sure its a good ground.

Fuel gauge stoped working and the low fuel light stay on

The guage stopped working, because a code set , possibly due to a faulty fuel sending unit, or a wiring issue. This would neeed to be scan tested for the current code. After repair is made, and the code is cleared, the guage will work again. Thanks...

Audi 80 fuel and temp gauge problems temp dont work fuel gauge works sometimes

if temp, does not work, it may be the tempurature sending unit. for fuel guage it is usually a bad wire to tank or the sending unit in tank. check wire and ground to tank first. good luck!!

Fuel guage wiring from tank to dash not responding in a restored 88 crown vic interceptor do you have a wiring diagram or just some hints as to the wherabouts of all the connections between the two. A...

It kind of sounds like the Anti-Slosh Module. The fuel gauge is connected to the fuel gauge sender through the Anti-Slosh Module. The sender is a variable resistor connected to the float in the fuel tank which determines the amount of fuel in the tank Anti-Slosh Module. The Anti-Slosh Module provides a delay circuit to the fuel gauge which prevents the fuel gauge from fluctuating due to excessive movement of gas in the fuel tank. The Anti-Slosh Module is part of the instrument cluster and to replace it, you will need to replace the instrument cluster. I had to do one when I worked at Ford on one of their cars.
