Locate the dipstick tube to check the trans oil and remove the dip stick and put the oil down the tube. Replace the dip stick and check the level when you think you have enough in the tranny. Hope this helps.

Since the dipstick tube is a slide in fit, you will need to drop the oil pan to work the rest of the part out.
1) drain the oil
2) remove the bolts holding the oil pan (once they are all out, you might need to tap the pan to get it to release from the block-my brother's 97 camry was like this)
3) Remove the pan and look up for the dipstick tube end, spray it good with some WD-40, let it sit for a few minutes. The photo shows some pretty bad corrosion in your case.
4) with a set of channel lock pliers, begin to work the tube out. Take your time, you will be pushing out, not trying to pull the piece through.
5) once it is out, clean the edges of the dipstick tube opening.
6) Install new dipstick tube. ensure you have a good fit around the tube. otherwise, the crankcase pressure will squirt oil through.
7) Scrape off the old gasket from the oil pan and the face of the bottom of the engine.
8) lay the new gasket on the oil pan and begin to bolt it back on. Get the bolts in finger tight, then alternate torquing them down to ensure an even seal.
9) change oil filter and fill with new oil

replace with new one

I would look for other leaks. If you are sure it's leaking at the dipstick tube, there is normally an o-ring where the tube presses into the engine. In general, this is an odd place for a leak, as ther eshould be no oil pressure in the pan (where the tube terminates) and unless the engine is overfilled with oil, the tube end shouldn't be immersed in oil to leak. IF there is pressure in the oil pan, that generally indicates bad rings. I have seen engines where the oil dipstick actually pops out of the tube under pressure when the engine is running due to pressure in the oil pan from blow-by at the rings.

Hi there, you did not specify the type of engine you use so here are possible guides for varying enginge types:

2.4L Engine
To Remove:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the intake air temperature sensor and remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the EVAP purge solenoid and move it out of the way.
4. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator.
5. Remove the accessory drive belt from the alternator.
6. Remove the alternator.

To Install:

1. Install the alternator.
2. Install the accessory drive belt
3. Connect the wiring to the alternator.
4. Install the EVAP purge solenoid in the bracket.
5. Install the air cleaner and duct, then connect the intake air temperature sensor.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.

3.3L & 3.8L Engines
To Remove:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator.
3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
4. Remove the right front tire and lower splash shield.
5. Remove accessory drive belt.
6. Remove the lower engine oil dipstick tube bolt, then remove the wiring harness from the dipstick tube.
7. Remove the 3 mounting bolts.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove engine oil dipstick tube.
10. Roll and carefully remove the alternator from vehicle.

To Install:

1. Place the alternator into position on the engine.
2. Install upper mounting bolts to hold the alternator in place.
3. Lubricate the o-ring with engine oil and install the dipstick tube.
4. Install the upper dipstick tube bolt.
5. Connect the wiring to the alternator.
6. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
7. Install the alternator lower mounting bolt and tighten.
8. Install the lower oil dip stick tube bolt.
9. Install the accessory drive belt.
10. Install the right front splash shield and tire.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Install the wiring harness at the dipstick tube
13. Connect the negative battery cable.

you fill through the trans dipstick tube, use a funnel, put alittle in at a time and check till full. Van should be running while doing this. Also use the correct fluid recommended for this transmission.

Drain plug for what? Radiator? Engine? Transmission? Power Steering?

Being more specific will only ensure a more accurate description to advise you as to your needs.

The dipstick tube usally has a red top that says transmission. Withthe stick removed you add the fluild where the stick was. At places theat sell the trans fluild they will also sell you a transmission filler funnel. Also all the quick oil change places will check and fill the oil for you and if you ask they'll show you how it's done.

You should see the dip stick on the Driver side under the hood.It will be the only black steel tube that comes up towards the hood.The oil is sometimes poured down the same tube or it will be in the drivers side valve cover..
