The best alarm system only last about 5 to 7 years. If you bought a cheap one, pull it out. Every time I run into a security problem and they have aftermarket alarms/ remote starts. They come out. I'll get the car working right, but if want the alarm. You have to take it back to the place that sold it and installed it. Most likely you have to buy another alarm system.
Well it is if you want the auto start feature, you need the extra key to clarify the transmission for it to have the auto start feature, but if you want just the alarm you dont need the extra key!
battery drain problems are time consuming to find and resolve. The Jag has a lot going on with the key on and with the key off. I would start by placing a meter on the battery and with the key off start pulling unswitched circuit fuses to see which one or more are putting an abnormal drain on the battery. Common causes are non factory alarm systems and other non factory installed accessories.

The below Installation Caution(s) & Warning(s) was taken from my CS-2000 Series III CrimeStopper Alarm System manual:
" WE RECOMMEND that the MAIN SYSTEM FUSE be REMOVED before jump starting, using a battery charger, or changing the battery. A voltage surge or high boost condition could damage alarm circuits."
There you go. You will probably need a new Alarm System. If possible,get the same model so that it will save you time to install, just swap the two main alarm modules.
