Have a 2002 freelander. The fan motor comes on for a few minutes then gradually goes off. it works on all four speeds but dosent blow hard. Any suggestions LJ

look at the blower motor resistor 1 and two are resistored and 3 and four are not its probaly burnt

Blower Resistor pack going bad or motor bearings seizing .

I am having same problem with my freelander...blowing cold air. But I tried something like starting the veh and drive round for 10 mins then turn the heater speed control to 3 or 4....it started warming up and was OK until next day and I'm back with same routine...try it and see

WEll, the next step is to find where the short is. Disconnect the fan wiring, and replace the fuse again, if it blows, the fault is between the fuse and the fan, but I expect fuse will not blow.

Most likely a fan problem, if the above test does not blow fuse, apply auxillary power to the fan and see if it goes, I expect probably not, but will spark.... if this happens, you would be looking at blower motor replacement.

Temperature/frad. fan switch/solinoid is bad.

check resistor if good replace blower motor the bushing is bad causing drag after warming up

thereis an actuator controling the flap t may be cracked causing the problem

fan blower speed switch under hood usually in fire wall or in heater box under dash area if you do not change it you will keep losing all your speeds until nothing left! it is not!!!!the one in your dash that you hand operate! hope this helps.John

The problem is the blower motor speed control resistor, it is located near the blower motor in the housing.
