What kind of tool do I need to remove the engine cover on a 04 LINCOLN Town Car? The bolt appears to be a square (not a hex)

I have a 2002 4.6L engine and it has a cover on it too. I believe I used a 1/4 inch drive extension to fit into the square hole. At the front of this cover you will find 2 slots that the cover hangs on with the top cover plug (with the square hole) providing the 3rd mounting point. You will need to slightly shift the cover forward after removing the top cover plug to clear the front mounting tabs.

When replacing the cover, you hang the cover on the front tabs first and then pivot the cover to align the mounting hole for the cover plug.

Replace timing chain cover on 1999 chevy van 2500

should be able to get the cover off with the engine in the frame. Just take out the grille and header support, then disassemble the front of the engine. If you are dead set on removing the engine, she comes out the front after taking everything out of the way.

Just had my 1999 jeep grand cherokee front differental (dana 30 3:73 ) replaced at a cost of $900 ,noticed the front cover was never totched (dirt on bolts) . CAN THIS TASK BE PERFORMED without removing...

Yes. The front differential can be changed without opening the front cover. I'd say it looks like a used differential was obtained and installed. The differential (assembly) is the entire front assembly housing the axles. If an axle were to be changed then the differential cover would have had to be removed to access the components.

I just find it somewhat unusual that the cover was not taken off by the part supplier to inspect the integrity of the pinion gears etc... I remove used parts nine hours per day, and unless I know for a fact that the (front) rear is good, I take the cover off to inspect it for wear and/or potential damage. In this regard, it may have been one of those instances. Check the bolts on the trailing arms (the bolts on the arms that lead to the frame) and other bolts to see if they've been disturbed, if you suspect foul play.

Need help removing driver side valve cover there is a metal mount that is holding a pulley at the front of the vavle cover toward the front of the truck and has a lip that catches and keeps me from...

Your going to have to remove that mount, I believe it's the A/C mount and power steering mount that is connected to the engine block as one unit. Sorry for the bad news. you don't have to remove it, just loosen the bolts to move the mount forward far enough to so you can clear the Valve cover lip. Good luck and take you time.
