I am getting all three of these lights after I start the engine. I think I might know the cause, but will not be able to confirm until tomorrow when I go to have the codes read and cleared. Everything on the vehicle was fine until yesterday when I decided to change the oil. I put the vehicle up on ramps, drained the oil, changed the oil filter, and changed the air filter. In order to get the top of the air filter off, I unhooked the electrical connection on the top of the air filter enclosure. I re-installed the drain plug and filled the engine with new oil. When I went to start the engine to back it off the ramp, I got the abovementioned fault lights and the engine uncharacteristically stalled out. I went around and found that I had forgotten to re-connect the electrical plug at the top of the air filter. Once I re-attached it, the engine seemed to run fine, but I still had these three fault lights. My suspicion is that when the plug was disconnected, it triggered a fault and that, until the fault is reset, the lights will continue to appear. I have not tested the function of the traction control or ABS. As I said, I will be taking this into the garage tomorrow for a quick diagnosis and will update you with what I find.
It was trigger by the unconnectedc sensor at the air box. go to an autozone or sinilar parts store. most have a code reader they can put on the car for free and give u a list of codes.

That code relates to a crankshaft position sensor signal. It you have a check engine light come it disables the VSC and Trac system. Until you get that sensor fixed the VSC and the TRAC system will be inop. So whenever you have a check engine light come on that is what you will see. Even though you cancel the check engine light the fault still exists and the VSC/ TRAC light will come back on. That is a sure way to tell that something is wrong.
The VSC and Traction Control require the engine to be at 100% in order to function correctly. As a fail safe these systems a disabled anytime the engine computer detects a fault. When they are disabled the lights are illuminated to let you know that they will no longer function.
The true problem is with the check engine light. The engines computer has detected a problem with a sensor or system that it monitors or controls. You have three options to get the codes that will help you determine what's wrong
1. You can buy an inexpensive code reader for about $50 and pull the codes yourself.
2. You can call your local parts store to see if they can pull codes for you.
3. You can visit your local repair shop or dealer and have them perform a diagnosis. There is usually a set fee. They will pull codes, run some tests, and pinpoint the problem for you.

when ever the check engine light is turned on for any reason the vsc and trac light also comes on to let you know they are not working, whenever the engine light is on the other systems can not operate if the engine is not working correctly, so its programed to shut down the trac and vsc when the engine light is on. the catalyst system means the catalic converter is no longer cleaning the exhasut to specs, this is caused by a weak bad converter or bad o2 sensors giving false readings you will need to have the sensors checked to see if they are the problem or the converter is the problem good luck.
I have both lights on in my 2004 van also I have the engine light on. i took it to the dealer and they found the Yaw Rate Sensor (Vsc & TRAC) bad. The part is about$ 405 and is under the drivers seat. The other problems is the Catalyst System (engine light) about $1000 for parts.I have about 147,000 miles on my '04 and the problems started about 130,000.
