Misfire on 2 and 5

Hi Paula,

You didn't mention if you changed the plug wires.

You mentioned replacing the camshaft sensor. Have you checked the Crankshaft Position Sensor? Or the Mass Air Flow Sensor (may need cleaning)? Or the Throttle Position Sensor?

It is most likely the TPS sensor for the P0123 code(TPS voltage out of range). If P0123 occurs again, repair. The P0162 may be a result of the P0123 failure. So repairing the P0123 may also correct the P0162 fault.

The P0162 appears to be Jeep enginr specific. The following link may be of help.

How do you change the tps on a 2000 jeep grand 4.7

The exact placement of the throttle position sensor generally is located on the side of the throttle body below the air intake tube on top of the engine.

To replace simply remove the air intake duct (usually one plastic screw), locate the sensor, disconnect wire plug in, remove the two sensor mounting screws (torx screw variety, size not remembered) and the sensor will come off. When replacing be sure to line up the throttle shaft with the proper groove inside the sensor...it should just slip in there pretty easily with a little bit of wiggling. Reinstall doing the reverse of the above.

Take's about 5 - 10 min to replace from start to finish and remember to clean the throttle body before starting this job to ensure no dirt will enter the engine. Good luck, Merry Xmass

Throttle Position Sensor??

Sensor is attached with two torx screws on the throttle body. it is easily removed and is non adjustable. Be sure you engage the throttle plate shaft properly before tightening it up if unsure what it looks like, buy the new one first..
