SOURCE: Setting the clock in a 1987 Dodge Dakota

First things first, if you havent already done so, check the owners manual. If you lost it or dont have one, i suggest 1 of these 2 procedures:

1.) Next to the radio, there should be 2 little holes. They are actually buttons. One of these has hours or "h" above it, while the other is labelled minutes or "m". Use a pen to press those little buttons to set the correct time.

OR

2.) Use the knobs to tune the radio (AM/FM and volume) to set the time. This is how it works:

-Press and hold the Time button
-The "hours" on the display should flash
-Turn the radio tuning knob to set the correct time
-Press and hold the tuning knob
-The "minutes" on the display should flash
-Set the correct time

Then you should either wait for it to stop flashing or press the time button to set it.

You don't have a carburator. The last carb was in 1984 on most U.S. Vehicles.

My Holley 4160 carb floods like crazy at idle fuel pressure @6 psi virtually new carb and gone through by very experienced drag racer with Holley carbs

Was the carb sitting for years before you bought it? Probably the needle shut off valve is stuck . Where the fuel line goes into the carb, try firmly tapping (wack) the carb housing with a screw driver handle. If it still floods, its take apart time. Was the "experienced drag racer" a driver, or mechanic.? Apparently he don't know much about carburetors.

Holley 2 barral carburetor runs to rich in 1985 Dodge Diplomat 318 V8

pull the float level plug in the side and check the float level
It should have fuel at the bottom of the thread Adjust on the top as necessary
in the emulsion plate there is a power valve that is vacuum controlled
The diaphragm is subject to punctures from back firing and this will pass extra uncontrolled fuel to the manifold
adjust the mixture screws as if they are too far out then extra fuel will be drawn into the manifold

How to repair a flooding carburater

if the carburetor keeps flooding out, the float could be stuck in the up position. tap lightly on & around fuel reservoir to free. depending on age of carburetor, you might need to put in a carburetor kit.

Carburetor options for 87 dodge dakota 3.9 lit

There really isn't a direct replacement because of the electronics involved. This carb is called a 'feedback' carb because it has electronics that send signals to the ignition computer. There are very few mechanics that even know what a carburetor is anymore so that makes it even tougher. My suggestion to you is look online for a rebuilder that gives a good guarantee. A new one may not even be available.

1987 Dodge Dakota 3.9 engine, Holley 2 barrel. Having running issues. Bought the truck cheap cause it wouldn't run. Cleaned the carburetor and installed a rebuild kit. Starts right up and idles great....

Yes, the floats may be causing the fuel level in the carb. to be too high. The black plugs indicate running too rich. Clean the plugs and check the fuel level.

On a 1987 dodge Dakota what causes a popping noise coming from the carburetor?

Most common cause is a burnt out inlet valve caused by unleaded fuel with no lead additive added to it ,sorry for the bad news

1987 dodge ramcharger is leaking fuel from carburetor, is there a kit to fix the carburetor?

Yes, check at local auto parts store, but they may have to order it, seeing how everything is pretty well fuel injected now. Look for a tag attached, or at least some numbers, make of carb, such as holley or carter, 2 barrel or 4 barrel etc that they can use for reference.
