You need to have the charging system checked. Maybe the alternator is bad?

2000 silverado battery light on

It could be the charging system is fine. Have the system checked at one of the parts stores that offer that service and if it passes then likely it's ok and it's a false indicator.

GM instrument panels of that era have a history of poor solder and metal migration that typically manifests as high parasitic current.

Have you experienced low battery or dead battery when the truck sits unused for a day or 2 or 3?

Sounds like plastic clicking when i accelerate in my 2000 ford taurus lx . Also the battery indicator light comes on and at the same time the temperature gauge goes haywire. What could this be???

Looks like you have an wiring issue.
Battery light comes on and stays on, indicate your alternator is not charging the battery.
But the light goes out and temp. light come on.
And im assuming the its not over heating.
you need to see an auto electrican to diagnose the wiring issue

2000 Land Rover Discovery 2 hard to start during this winter season

Aside from building a garage or installing an engine block heater I have used this trick in the past on my 98 RR HSE. It may work for you if the starting issue is simply temperature related. Placing a shop-light or shielded work light underneath your block at night will produce just enough heat in many cases to overcome the slow starting problem.
Other possibilities may be under powered/weak battery. The rovers are known for high cranking amp demand and a weak or mismatched battery could certainly cause this problem. On the outside chance that it may be fuel delivery related you might try priming your fuel injection prior to cranking. Do this by turning key to position 2 (or last position before crank) wait til all the bells and whistles stop usually about 3-5 seconds, and repeat a couple times. If this is helpful, the bad news is it may be indicative of mechanical issues on the horizon.
****SAFETY NOTE***** PAY ATTENTION TO LIGHT PLACEMENT MAKING SURE NOT TO PUT IT IN PATH OF OIL LEAKS.
Hope this helps.

Battery light on its not battery or alternator

No guessing here

That wouldn't even be possible

You need the car, trouble charts & actually
work on diagnosing- possibly more than one
issue

You have an abs light on, so there is a place to
start & resolve before moving on to non check
light & code related items

I have a 2000 Miata and my check engine light has come on. Ultimately, I replaced the battery and alternator. After spending $500 or so, the light has come one again and now it flashes. Any ideas?

First off, flashing is a warning NOT to drive it-unlike a steady CEL, flashing indicates there is a problem that needs immediate attention. When you had the CEL before, did you get the actual code? It might still be related, or could be an entirely different issue, although it is now more serious. If you can, you should drive it very little and straight to a commercial auto parts store to have the computer scanned for code(s)-WRITE the actual codes down, very important, so you can get help for your issue. Pay particular attention to engine temp, how it runs, check oil...do not drive it if it is running hot, has little or no oil, or is running really bad, get it towed-not worth the risk in ruining the engine.

2000 bravada worked ok yesterday went out this morning and won't start. Lights. radio and heater fan run and tries to turn over then just clicks. Could it be starter or alternator

The indication for your symptom is a dead battery, loose battery cable of a faulty ground wire. n If the battery is dead it could be an indication of a charging issue or there is some parasitic load or light that was left on

Replaced battery. now malfunction indicator lamp

The light will stay on until about 20 starts. Once that 20th start is made, light should shut off. If not, it can be shut off by diagnostic scanner.

Check engine light comes on as gas level reached 1/4 tank which causes low fuel light to flash in my 98 MB SLK230...any idea as to the cause besides bad gas cap?

Have you had the fault codes read? If not, why not take the car to an autoparts store and have them retrieve any codes stored in the computer. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. It could be an emission related problem, but getting the codes should narrow the cause down. The check engine light indicates the computer has noted a fault in one of the car's systems. Hope this helped and best wishes.
