2000 Chevrolet Blazer Changing Low Beam Headlight

How do I change out the low beam headlight on a 2000 chevy blazer? It is on the driver's side. Do I need to take off the front grill? What other pieces do I need to disassemble?

I can see down to where the bulb is but can barely get my hand on the bulb. It seems there is a metal ring with screws that is blocking me from taking out the bulb. Do you have any advice on the best procedure for changing my bulb? It seems like a lot of work for such a little bulb.

The metal ring is the retainer for the bulb. you should be able to get at it from the front area without taking the grill loose. most of those only have 2 little phillips head screws. remove the screws and the bulb will come out. unplug it and the new one goes right back in. installation is the reverse of removal.

One low beam head lights will not work, high beam works though

check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse

I have a 2000 blazer and the high beam light and low beam work on one side and the other side both beams are on and not very bright at all

It sounds like a bad ground wire on that side. Get a test light and turn on the headlights, and high beams. test the wires to see which two are "hot" with the light. Take the one that's not hot and run a ground wire between it and the body.

2000 chevy blazer-- the low beams do not turn off---

you need to disconnect your headlight switch if they go out your switch is faulty, if they stay on you will have a headlight relay fitted somewhere, look in handbook, disconnect relay if they go out relay is faulty. hope this helps.

Low beam not working

is it only one headlight that the lowbeam won't come on or both? If it's only one headlight it is most likely just a bad bulb.
