SOURCE: Remove the radio from 1997 Toyota Corolla

i have a 97 corolla as well, and i've changed the radio out several times on my own. if you take a small screwdriver and stick it in between the panel that goes around the around the area where the radio is, u should be able to pry it off relatively easy. just be sure to remove the sliders off the AC controls before you do. after you pop that panel off, you just have to disconnect the wiring harnesses going to the clock, hazard lights, rear defroster, and AC button. the radio is bolted in there with a mounting bracket, so you'll have to unscrew that as well. you'll need to unscrew that bracket from the radio you have in there, and mount it to the one you wanna install....hopefully this helps you out. it sounds harder than it really is.

SOURCE: how do you replace clutch in 1997 toyota corolla?

I see. sounds like you need a new clutch. OK, here is a step by step guide to follow. it will help with the removal and installation of your new clutch.

Remove the Old Clutch Step1 Verify that your vehicle's clutch is the source of your problems and not the pedal-arm bushings, activating cables or the slave-master cylinder. Step2 Unhook the positive battery cable, the clutch cable or hydraulic slave cylinder to get the transaxle ready for easy removal. Eliminate anything that may hinder your efforts, including exhaust pipes and the speedometer. Step3 Secure your car in a safe position before jacking up the front end. Step4 Stabilize the engine with a jack below the oil pan. Remove the transaxle by undoing at least one engine mount. Step5 Separate the engine from the transaxle by removing the bolts that surround the flywheel bell housing. Step6 Push the transaxle away from the engine until the input shift clears the pressure plate. Step7 Disengage the bolts surrounding the pressure plate and take it and the clutch disc out. Check to see if the flywheel's friction surface is scored, checked or has hot spots. Remove, machine and reinstall the flywheel, if needed. Step8 Examine the pilot bearing (bushing) located at the flywheel's center to be sure the needle bearings are lubricated and that there's no galling. Also look for any oil leaking around the rear main engine seal. Replace the clutch Step1 Follow the instructions for replacing your car's clutch carefully to avoid having to remove the transaxle. Step2 Check that the transaxle's input shaft isn't leaking; replace if needed. Step3 Take out the flywheel and the old seal and install a new seal. Install a New Clutch Step1 Clean the crankshaft flange before putting in the flywheel. With the flywheel on top of the flange, secure the bolts in a star formation to the specified torque for your vehicle. Step2 Install the clutch disc and pressure plate. Prior to putting in the transaxle, attach the new release bearing to the release fork. The fork should move freely. Step3 Hoist the transaxle into position and move it forward until the input shaft glides into the clutch disc's spindled hole. Do not apply force. Step4 Reinstall any bolts or mounts that were removed to replace your car's clutch. Grab the transaxle, release the jack and lower your vehicle. Step5 Consider replacing your car's clutch cable. If you don't replace the cable at least adjust it for the right amount of free-play. Step6 Confirm that your clutch's self-adjusting action is performing correctly by depressing the slave cylinder's piston into its bore. Step7 Drive your car to be sure your clutch is working properly.

PLease rate and god bless:)

SOURCE: belt diagram 1997 toyota corolla? alternator belt

The 97 Corolla has three accessory belts. The alternator belt is the one you see when you look down on the passenger side standing near the front of the engine compartment. If fits over the alternator and the engine pulley. The belt beneath it is the a/c belt (if the car has a/c). It fits over the engine pulley and the a/c compressor. The power steering belt is toward the rear of the engine compartment, on the same side. It fits around the engine pulley and the power steering pump.

Replacing the alternator belt is not too difficult. Standing in front of the car and facing towards the rear, loosen the locking bolt under the right side of the alternator. Then loosen the alternator hinge bolt on top of the alternator. Now you are ready to loosen the alternator belt tensioner adjustment bolt, accessed under the alternator from the front. Turn the tensioner until the old belt is loose enough to remove, then turn it further so that the new belt will go on easily. Replace the belt and re-tension until you have about 1/4 in. to 1/8 in. of play in the belt, tighten the lock bolt and the hinge bolt, and run the engine. If the belt squeals it means you need more tension, but do not overtension. Recheck it after a few days.

SOURCE: Replacing heater core in a 1995 Toyota 4Runner

The heater core is a small heat exchanger located inside the truck, similar to the radiator at the front of the truck. Coolant is circulated from the engine through the heater core and back to the engine. The heater fan blows fresh, outside air through the heater core; the air is heated and sent on to the interior of the truck. For Toyota Pick-ups/Land Cruiser/4Runner 1989-1996 check this reference repair guide...

Heater Core - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figure 1)

  1. Drain the cooling system.
  2. Remove the heater unit assembly. Have alot of towels handy for the leakage of coolant that may spill into your interior.
  3. Remove the fasteners securing the core to the unit, remove the plates and clamps. Pull upwards to remove the core from the unit.
To install:
  1. Inspect the core fins for any blockage. Using compressed air, clean them.
  2. Install the core into the unit placing the plates and clamps into position. Tighten the core screws.
  3. Install the heater unit into the vehicle.
  4. Fill the cooling system.

Fig. 1: Exploded view of the heater unit assembly-1996 4Runner shown

Heater Unit - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
(see Figure 1)

Have alot of towels handy for the leakage of coolant that may spill into your interior.
  1. Discharge the A/C system (if applicable), using an approved recovery/recycling machine.
  2. Remove the cooling unit (if applicable).
  3. Drain the cooling system.
CAUTION When draining engine coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted to ethylene glycol antifreeze and could drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or is several years old.
  1. Disconnect the hoses to the heater core. Tag each one so that it may be correctly reinstalled.
  2. On some models you will need to remove the glove box assembly. On others, the instrument panel and reinforcement.
  3. At the heater case under the dash, disconnect the ductwork from the case.
  4. Disconnect the heater control cables from the heater case. Lift the spring clip holding the control cable to allow the cable to be manipulated. Don't deform or crimp the cables.
  1. Disconnect the wiring harness to the blower fan.
  2. Remove the three or four bolts holding the heater case to the dash. Because the inlet tubes project through the firewall, the unit will not fall straight down. It will need to be pulled into the passenger compartment and then brought downward.
To install:
  1. Lift the case into position and carefully place the inlet and outlet pipes through the firewall. Install the retaining bolts holding the case to the dash.
  2. Connect the wiring harness to the blower fan.
  3. Connect the control cables to their linkages. Each must be adjusted so that the motion of the dashboard lever causes the correct corresponding motion in the air door. Both the control lever and the door must reach maximum travel at the same time if full function is to be achieved.
    1. Set the dashboard control to FRESH. Lift the adjustment clip and adjust the air inlet cable towards the heater unit until the linkage is at its maximum travel on Pick-Up and 4Runner. For Land Cruiser, adjust the cable away from the case. Release the adjustment clip.
    2. Set the dashboard control to VENT (Pick-Up) or DEF (4Runner and Land Cruiser). Lift the adjustment clip and adjust the air flow control cable towards the heater unit until the linkage is at its maximum travel. Release the adjustment clip.
    3. Set the temperature control to COOL. Lift the adjustment clip and adjust the air mix control damper control cable away from the heater case until the linkage is at its maximum travel on . For Land Cruiser, adjust the cable towards the case.
  4. Connect or reinstall the ductwork. Make certain each tube is firmly and completely fitted on its port. A light spray of glass cleaner serves as a good lubricant; don't use too much.
  5. Install the glove box and/or instrument panel assembly.
  6. Connect the heater hoses. Use new clamps.
  7. Install the cooling unit (if equipped).
  8. Refill the coolant, then charge the A/C system (if equipped).

Hope this help (remember comment and rated this).

Why my window is fogging whe i turn the heater ?? i recently bought my toyota carina 3 model 1994 but the window is fogging , what should i do?

Make sure the vent system is set to draw air from outside. If it is set to recirculate the same air that's inside the vehicle without drawing fresh air from outside, the resulting humidity that builds up inside the vehicle can fog the windows even when you run the defrost. You can also try opening the windows a bit to get some more air moving inside.
If it still fogs when the vents are set properly, you may have a leaky heater core. The heater core is a small radiator that is located under the dash that the heater system blows air through to heat the inside of your car and provide heat to defrost the windshield. The fog may be coming from the heater core leaking hot coolant steam that's being circulated through the defrost system. If this is so, you will need to replace the heater core.

No heat/defrost 01 corolla

Sounds like you have air trapped in the heater core when you flushed the heater core. loosen the upper most heater core hose and run the engine untill coolant seeps out. Wait until the coolant has reached running temperature.

Toyota corolla verso 54 reg. Heating system does not get hot, in colder weather, particularly little heat to the front screen.

Try flushing the radiator and/or changing the vented cap. If that's no help, you may have a faulty thermostat or heater core.
