there are 3 , v6 engines, you never said which
why ask us, about parts, we dont sell parts
and would have to read the same books on parts as you
why ask use to do that.?
here is the list
USA only, RODEO, prime examples. the GAS v6 engines. 3.1L 3.2L 6vd1 SOHC, one cam per head, then the optional... 6vd1w DOHC, 2 cams in one head, w = DOHC optioned heads, then came... 3.5L (a stroked out, 3.2L.) 6ve1 are all DOHC engines. and have 24 valves. (6x4) with 2 rear cam sensor, used for VVT and spark both,
the engines must match ,to mix parts

note it changed on August 99, mfg build dates. so.....
tricky
this will not cause low MPG
it will cause idle controls to be dead.
why not post all symptoms, first. and stop guessing?

Look along the engine about where the camshaft would be. I should have electrical connector and a bolt that holds it into the head.

wow no engine size stated, and MATTERs.!
with no tech1 or 1a scan tooL (real scan tools)
what good is DLC?>
sure jumper CODES< (DTC errors in todays parlance)
there is abs tool.. but only on some cars.

and more. read the FSM yet?
lets pretend you said how do i get the PCM flash error codes
easy jumper the DLC. 'diag, link connector"

see no in the engine bay at all, like the 1 guess

you should not change the belt maybe now its not in the same position and that's a big problem

Read these 2 solutions on setting the timing for the 6vd1/6ve1 engine which your vehicle uses. 4 Cylinder engines on this model is rare, but let me know if you have a 4 cylinder.

You should have the check engine light on. Rent a scanner and follow all trouble leads. The trouble can be either fuel or ignition problems at this point. Put some water-removing additive in the fuel tank. Replace the fuel filter. You might do a compression check to verify the valve job. You might also put some injector cleaner in the tank as well. Were the valve clearances checked after the valve work?

cam gear mark lines up with head at 9 o clock and dowl pin near centre bolt is at 12 o clock
crank gear keyway at 12 o clock and mark in disc behind gear lines up with mark on oil pump at 12 o clock also.

Isn't this just a Ford ranger?

1999 Isuzo Rodeo. 3.5 L or 3.2L V6. Is a DOHC. Double over head cam.
and the engine 2.2 L 4cyl. SOHC, single over head cam.
The angibe 2.3 L 4cyl. Is DOHC.

may be a blowen head gasket. is the water in the oil. or oill in the water? do a head check or coompression test. this will tell you for sure.
