Coolant leaks can sometimes be difficult to locate the exact origin of the leak. That is why proffessional technicians use pressure testers, bright flashlights, inspection mirrors, and in some cases even borescopes to locate the cause.

With that said, I would say that if you have a "radiator leak" and it is "on the bottom of [your] radiator" my first guess is that it is coming from the radiator itself....check the area of the radiator where the plastic tanks are crimped to the cooling tubes (main radiator core). Sometimes the fittings in the tanks leak where the transmission cooler lines connect.

I have also seen leaking radiator caps misdiagnosed for a leaking radiator....Sometimes they will leak and the antifreeze will run along the sides of the radiator and "mimick" a radiator tank leak. Remember, the coolant almost always travels DOWN and REARWARD. Sometimes it goes way to the left or the right, but it still goes down and back from there.

A bright flashlight and an inspection mirror will verify most leaks. You may also want to detach the fan shroud and move it back for better inspection of the radiator. - start where you can see the coolant and follow the trail upward....

Radiator leaking...nothing to do here but replace it. The "new" aluminum and plastic radiators cannot be repaired. Kinda sad considering how new this car is. If you need a temporary fix and it's a fairly small leak there a lot of stop leak products on the market. Check your local parts house not the dealer they will rip you off big time for a new radiator and tell you can't use stop leak but it really does work pretty well, but you will need a new radiator, no way around it.

TO FIX COOLANT LEAK.YOU HAVE TO LOCATE IT.BEST TIME FIND COOLANT LEAK WAIT UNTIL MORNING.ADD COOLANT UNTIL COOLANT LEVEL IN RADIATOR CORRECT. START THE ENGINE LET IDLE UNTIL START GETTING HOT.THEN TURN OFF ENGINE.COOLANT PRESSURE WILL PUSH COOLANT OUT WHERE LEAKS ARE.CHECK TOP RADIATOR HOSE AND BOTTOM RADIATOR HOSE.CHECK AROUND RADIATOR LOOK DOWN BELOW COOLANT FAN AREA BEHIND RADIATOR.LOOK FOR LEAKS AT RADIATOR CORES AND SIDE CONTAINERS.CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AROUND WATER PUMP GASKET OR WEEP HOLE.CHECK FOR COOLANT LEAKS AROUND HEATER HOSES AND HEATER CORE.CHECK ENGINE CRANKCASE FOR COOLANT LEAKS.

v6 or 4cyl?? Is it leaking from the radiator cap (4cyl only)?? If its not leaking from the cap and leaking from the radiator itself, whole radiator needs replacement.

If you have a leak near the lower radiator connection that just started, it is either a failed hose, or possibly a radiator core leak that is dripping down to that area.
If you havent changed your radiator hoses for awhile, and they feel soft, it isn't a bad idea to change them both. If you drain your radiator to change the hoses, this would be a good time to inspect the radiator, and perhaps you will find the source of the leak.

SOUND LIKE RADIATOR HOSES AND RADIATOR.ONLY WAY TO CHECK IS FILL UP RADIATOR WITH COOLANT.CRANK UP CAR UNTIL WARMS UP.LET RADIATOR PRESSURE BUILD UP.THEN TURN OFF CAR.LOOK FOR WATER LEAKS AT RADIATOR HOSES AND AROUND THE RADIATOR.

go to any good parts store for cars and buy a can of BARS LEAK brand radiator sealant/stop leak, if the leak isn't to bad that will seal it up.

Can you get to the Leak or see where it is at on the Radiator????

Hi, you 1st have to determine the exact location of the leak, which may involve removal of the radiator to repair anyway. How bad is the leak? How often do u have to add coolant, and how much? If it's a minor leak, you can purchase 'radiator stop leak' from a parts store, that will seal it.
so, try the stop leak if it's a minor leak, you can have it removed and repaired, or purchase a new one. Having said all that, the leak could be a hose leaking, but running down and dripping off the radiator making it look like a radiator leak. With engine warm but not running, use a small mirror to hunt around to see if u can find the source of the leak. Look closely under the radiator hoses, as that could be where the leak is. It would be from the radiator bottom and up, any further back and it wouldn't show up at the bottom of the radiator, so no need to check back any further.
