SOURCE: releasing the spare tire

if you look when you open the trunk right in the middle of the trunk there is a hole which your crank goes in to release the tire that is mounted under it, turn it either left or right to loosen

SOURCE: Water in spare tire compartment of trunk after heavy rain.

U need to carefully check the seams of the sheetmetal for any sign of water or dirt from the road, there is no common leak on these cars, in fact they seldom leak anywhere, the water is most likely splash up from the road, unless u left something out like it was sitting when this water accumulated. Let me know that info.

SOURCE: water in the trunk where the spare tire is...

It's most likely the weather stripping along the top of your trunk, where the hinges are. There is probably a bad contact, or missing the weather stripping.

pour a small amount of water down the back of the car, give it some time and then take a look inside maybe you will see where it's dripping from. if you can, fold your seats down and sit inside the car with a flashlight while someone else empties a glass of water approx. on your back window, roof of car etc.

Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: my spare won't come out.

If you apply enough force to the bolt using aq big wrench, you can snap the bolt.(not super bad and can easily be replaced) Otherwise, spray it with a good solvent several times for a day or two and see if it helps.

No owners manual. How do I get to the spare tire? Can't tell if I'm supposed to go through the floor in the back or under the car.

The spare tire in a 1996 Grand Cherokee is supposed to be bolted on the inside the rear trunk area, on the drivers side, not underneath the Jeep as you think. The only thing under there taking up all the space is the gas tank. If it's not in the back, then you don't have one. The jack and tire iron are located under the rear seats.

Do u have to drop the tank to replace fuel pump or can u go through trunk

The fuel tank does not have to come out.Just go in the trunk and remove the spare tire and remove the trunk liner. You will see an oval towards the front of the trunk with about 5 bolts on it.Remove these bolts and then you will have access to the fuel pump.It is better if you drain the fuel or at least partially drain it so you don`t get it all over the vehicle.Remember fuel is very flameable,do not smoke or have any spark near fuel tank.Hope this helps and good luck.

These cars were sold with a mini spare tire which was 3/4 the size of your full size spare that you have. Any Ford or Lincoln Mercury dealer pasts department can sell you the correct parts needed to bolt down your full size spare tire

Need to know how to replace power antenna for 1996 ford taurus? Or if you know of a website that has a diagram of the power antenna, thanks

If it's on rear, remove panel in trunk & spare tire, to get access, and remove all nuts/bolts, electrical connector & antennae cable, & reverse for re-install. Once your in there it will be fairly obvious.

Where is a spare tire stored in the 1989 Pontiac Firebird TransAm?

In the trunk right side you will need to take the right inside pannel off with a flat head you should find a donut size tire and a jack and a lug tool boltted to the right side frame

I had the same problem tryed to put a full size tire back there and it wont fit.

1).First you will need a jack, and a socket wrench.

2).Look under the trunk section at the bottom to first find the tire.

3).lift up the truck with the jack then get the spare tire underneath.

4).Use the socket wrench to unscrew the bolt's (turn left to loosen turn right to tighten).

5).Take out the bad tire and replace it with the spare.

6).Place the bolts back in place.

7).Lower the car back down .
