SOURCE: 95 Pathfinder Fuel Pump

In the rear cargo area you pull the back plastic strip that runs around where your hatch latches and pull the carpet FROM the rear right to the front left of the cargo area until you see the round/square panel with 4 10mm bolts.  That is the cover that you remove to get to your pump without having to pull your gas tank.  be sure to label your fuel lines.

SOURCE: where is the fuel pump

1.) Look for an access panel in the trunk, driver's side; it might even be labeled "Fuel Pump Reset".
2.) Open the compartment and press the red button. This should reset the pump.

SOURCE: fuel air mixture too rich on a 98 nissan pathfinder

My guess would be a fuel injector or fuel pressure regulator problem, or a Mass air flow sensor.
The O2 sensor does not come into play until the engine has run for a couple of minutes.
Is the check engine light on ?

Where is evap pressure sensor on 1998 nissan pathfinder?

The Evaporative emissions system fuel tank pressure sensor is located on the top of the gas tank near the fuel pump plate. I think you need to drop the tank down to access it.

Losing power and died. im thinking fuel pump.

when you first cycle the key on (without starting the vehicle) the fuel pump turns on for about 3 seconds. You can usually hear a buzzing noise coming from the fuel tank area, sometimes you need to be right next to the fuel tank to hear it because it's quiet.

Also, if your vehicle starts, that means the fuel pump is working. It could however fail during driving; if (for example) your fuel pump does not have sufficient volume output to run your vehicle at a higher RPM.

There could simply be a clog, or restriction somewhere in the system (most likely fuel filter) If you have not changed fuel filter recently (or within about 7000 miles) you should do so, they are pretty cheap (compared to a few hundred for a pump)

Also, keep in mind there are several other things that could happen to cause the exact same thing. So don't buy a fuel pump until you are sure.

1998 Nissan Pathfinder dies

sounds like might have bad fuel pump. take fuel line off see if it has pressure. the pump should come on if key is turned on without cranking it. or it can be the mass air sensor. it can't monitor the load.
