Can you be a bit more specific on this problem ?

When they go out, do they stay out ?

Any other problems with other components in the car when this problem happens ?

SOURCE: steps for replacing wiper motor for 1998 VW Jetta

remove wipers. remove plastic covering by loosening plastic screws first. unplug wiper motor wires. there are about three 10mm nuts at the motor location and you also have to unscrew the big nuts that were below the wipers when you unscrewed them. replacement is reversal.

SOURCE: 98 vw cabrio need to replace window regulator

THis is common Too common. As I posted before.

As I posted in the Passat questions.

The jetta may slightly differ.

Yes. If your window has fallen down and will not roll up.
99% Chance you car is suffering the Infamous VW plastic clip.

The door panel comes off With a T-10 torx or a Hex (Allen) wrench
that will fit and A large Philips Screw Driver..

Remove the Plastic cover on the inside Door handle.
And the Screw or Screw along the Bottom of the door panel.
Then remove the screws that hold the handle the the door.
They are located behind the Plastic plate you removed with a tiny screw driver earlier... Be careful not the mark up the cover whaytprying it up. It is best to pry from underneath. Where marks if made can not be seen

After the screws are out 4 I believe. The Use of a CLip tool ir best.
For getting behind the panel to pop it off. A screw driver will work.

After all the clips are released. Pull the light at the bottom of the panel down and out. Disconnect it ur push it back thought the hole it came from..

Now you need a 10mm socket, or wrench to remove the 12 bolts that hold the metal plate to the Door. Remove all the 10mm bolts, If the widow has not already fallen in the door. It should be released. By removing the Black 2" plugs. THe loosen the bolts that clamp the window the the arms. DO NOT LOOSEN THEM ALL the way, .
Disconect the all the wiring.. THe Door lock cable, can be a pain.
I think it pulls down,.
Next remove the Metal plate. that is the regulator.

reverse to install

SOURCE: 2002 vw Cabrio\ transmission doesn't shift out of second.

Is it a auto tranny? Might be your fluid levels check those. Also could be your detent cable. If manual tranny and has a hydro clutch check those fluids. Just some stuff to check. I would hate to say change your transmission.

Vw cabrio troubleshooting

Hi, there are a few possible faults that i can think of: the first could be that the battery may be low and does not crank the motor. The second could be that the starter needs attention.(you do not say whether any ignition lights come on) When the key is turned and the motor does not crank, the ignition, battery or the starter could be faulty. I would suggest you start with the battery then test the starter, if the battery is good and the starter is okay then check the ignition. All the best.

I HAVE A 1998 VW CABRIO with left blinker issues

Ok I fixed her light issue after investigating strange noises under the hood. The wiring harness mount holding clip between the frame and radiator fans at the hood latch broke and the wiring was rubbing against the fan, cutting 3 wires and exposing 4 others. electrical taped frays and made jumpers for the cut ones and WHALLAH! All good. The reason it evaded so long is it was about out of plain sight because of the shroud until it broke the main holding clip and dropped the cluster of wires and the big connector down it wasnt loud.

Where is the location and how do you replace the cabin air filter for a 2001 VW Cabrio?

You need to remove the tray cover for the wiper assembly, meaning you have to remove the wiper arms. It sits at the passenger side of the car (right).
