The two upper motor mounts, between engine and the bar running across the top of the radiator, must be disconnected at the engine end and the engine rotated forward, so that the rear plugs can be worked on. On a Chevy, there is a second hole in one of the mounts (dog-bone mount) that can be used to hold the engine forward. I'm not sure if the Oldsmobile has this type of mount or not. First you have to locate it. The spark plugs are located on the side of the engine heads and can be accessed through the wheel well. The no. 3 spark plug will be the hardest for you to get to, you need a spark plug socket with a built in swivel to loosen it and then remove it and install the new one by hand and the socket can only be used to loosen and tighten it.Vote for me if it helps

My 94 cutlass ciera won't start. It turns over and puffs a little. I put some "heat" in it and it seemed to help a little. now it turns over and puffs more, but still will not start. What...

You need to establish whether or not the engine is getting fuel and spark. Pull a spark plug wire and insert a phillips head screwdriver in the end of the plug wire, make sure it contacts the metal piece inside the wire. place the screwdriver on the engine so the metal shaft of the screwdriver is touching or almost touching a metal engine part. Now have someone try to start the engine while you look at the screwdriver. If the plug is getting fire there should be a substantial spark coming from the screwdriver to the engine. Now pull the spark plug that the wire came from and see if it is wet and smells of gasoline. If the plug is wet then you know it's not a fuel problem. Let me know what you find out with these tests and get back with me and we will try to determine course of action.

Bad engine dead miss in 1994 oldsmobile cutlass ciera

1. You need to verify that the spark plug wires are indeed going to their proper cylinders and not crossed.

2. You need to check all the cylinders for the ability to achieve full compression. I had a vehicle that had a Engine Miss code on the OBDII computer and couldn't find any reason for it until we checked the compressions and found 1 cylinder had none which was causing the code to appear.

Good Luck
