Those sensors are usually located somewhere near the actual crankshaft pulley. You might need to remove the covers over the timing belt to get to it. The photo below is only a guide for general appearance and position.

2000 Hyundai Accent GS turns over - no start. ... HyundaiCrankshaft Position Sensor Replace Timing Belt ...
The MAP sensor on a 2000 Hyundai Elantra will be located directly on top of the intake manifold, 3-4 inches to the left of the throttle body (facing the engine), and attached by two 10mm bolts. However, some 2000 models may not have a MAP sensor, since it was added midway through the production year to prep for the updated 2001 elantra.
My online Sonata manual shows these possibilities, but does not identify which applies specifically to 2000 Sonata. Also, when you talk to the dealership parts counter, you'll need to know whether your 2000 Sonata is (a) 4-cylinder 2.4L MFI DOHC engine, or (b) 6-cylinder 2.5L MFI DOHC engine. Its easy to tell - just count your spark plug wires.

Also have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra. Interesting same thing has gone wrong with mine within two months of yours. Get the crankshaft position sensor replaced. Maybe these just wear out in time. The car will start one day and the next day it will not. It was a puzzle until the check engine light came on this last time. I actually cheered because it meant the computer would register a problem. It cost $220 for parts and labor at the dealership. It's worth it or it will continue to leave you stranded at various times without warning. Since replaced I have noticed my car engine seems to be running better that I didn't notice was off before. Car has been fine so far.
