06 dts stuck in park - 2006 Cadillac DTS

Cable broke or came off transmission , look under hood at the transmission an have someone move gear selector , does it move on the transmission .

Ignition cylinder could of been worn and key no longer matches tumblers.

If you cannot shift out of PARK (P), ease the pressure on the shift lever. Push the shift lever all the way into PARK (P) as you maintain brake application. Then move the shift lever into the gear you want. If you are still having a problem shifting, then have your vehicle serviced soon.

Shift lock control on this vehicle is complicated - your problem is probably a malfunctioning part in the system such as the shift lock control switch at the brake pedal, the Park relay, the shift lock relay (if equipped) or the A/T shift lock control solenoid. Take it to a dealer ...

Its a gear shift issue.

The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.
